I am continually baffled by what From Software put out before Dark Souls became their big, semi-popular hit. King's Field I understand, those games are crazy and inscrutable, but this is some sort of cutesy co-op platformer.

For those who might be interested, yes, a few of the programmers and artists who worked on this game also went on to work on the Dark Souls series (according to Moby games credits).

My wife (my girlfriend at the time) and I used to play the hell out of this game, although we know it as Kuri Kuri Mix. Might have to get it out of the drawer and see if she's up for revisiting it, because this video reminded me just how fun it was.

I'd have never guessed Dan and Drew would have such great chemistry but I am so happy they do!

I thought about this too for a second, but think about it: they're playing a 4:3 game on a widescreen, LCD TV. Even if there was an overscan problem, it'd just be some of the empty, black, space being cut off. I'd imagine this is just a case of tunnel vision, where Drew was set on trying to do the fastest time and looking at exactly where he was going, whereas we as observers were looking all around the screen.

This is all kinds of wonderful.

"D is Dan". Way to be a brick with Drew next to you, Dan! Just kidding, thanks for showing this game. The name didn't ring any bells, but the Japanese/European title I've definitely heard.

I think it's time for an endurance run.

Aside from Vinny + anyone, Dan and Drew is quickly becoming my absolute favorite GB combo.

I used to play this game like crazy. Originally I bought it to play co-op with my girlfriend, but ultimately played the entire thing solo. I never even realized it was From Software! Mind Blown.

First I was like "well this is so Dan's game". Then I was like "holy crap this is good". Added to my list of games to play.

I hate this game so, so much.

This is an excellent video, but hardly an Encyclopedia Bombastica. Those require an uncomfortably deep knowledge from the subjects.

Cookie and Cream are obviously the origin behind all the evil in the Dark Souls universe.

Oh man, this is totally the type of game I'd rent from Blockbuster for the weekend! Right up there with Bomberman Generations.

Looking like that might be Metal Gear Solid.

If somebody would have told me over a year ago that Dan Ryckert & Drew would be my favourite regular GB duo I would have called them an absolute lunatic(I love all the other guys though <3).

That Golem boss fight definitely reminded me of the Tower Knight boss fight in Demon's Souls.
