Aren't all the critics wishing for a Ryan & Patrick duo that was both entertaining and skilled? And they're neither? This is a gaming website, right? Whoops, gonna get attacked for saying this stuff.

Here's the FMV that plays in the PS1/DS versions when Frog opens up the cave. And my favorite one out of all of them.

Although it doesn't have him pulling the sword out of the ground, he pulls it out of his sheath.

How do they not know that Barle/Brono has the multi-heal tech? <_<

16 episodes...still haven't realized about Crono / Bobo AOE heal :(

Can healing spells be casted on enemies? That's the classic way to deal with the undead on JRPGs!

Boss rushies are the best part of any game.

Wow... I don't remember the music being that awful with that wavering high pitch.

Sigh, I know its just a game and an endurance run but everytime they attack an enemy with a physical attack that does no damage they INSTANTLY blame the ability. Even when they KNOW some enemies only take magic damage!

Its like they refuse to remember this simple thing, that enemies have different weaknesses.

I love the reverb on the menu select noises in Magus' castle.

OK. Maybe then those of us who don't expect an ideal runthrough from a first time, casual, player can enjoy the amusing bumbling without your joyless fuckery in the comments.

Love when they do the triple tech on that rat that's strong to regular attacks and then cast it out forever as a result.

I know this is 2 years later, but let me agree that as someone who played the DS version first, yeah, the localization of SNES Chrono Trigger is pretty terrible. The DS version is so much better in every way (they tone down Frog's Middle Ages speak to a reasonable level too).

Seriously, "Flame Toss"? It didn't occur to the translators that maybe the technology girl has a "Flamethrower"? And the item that removes status effects is called "Heal"? Really? I mean, Jesus Christ. The item and ability descriptions (and some of the monster names) are just so bad.

And I guess the SNES version had no monster log, which is kind of unfortunate, because aside from a couple bosses and "dinosaurs are weak to lightning", the rest of the monsters occasionally have really arbitrary elemental resistances (and arbitrarily high DEF, forcing you to use magic). That monster log comes in handy in the DS version.
