Now I gotta admit - some dumb decisions there.

So Vinny now are you starting to regret getting "Chie" tattooed on your arm.

It's not like they used Sukukaja before...getting rid of Masukukaja isn't a big deal.  Now, if they drop Brave Blade...

i was worried in the last endurance run episode that they would mess up one of their party member's skills, and looks like i was right.
 
the guide explains many of the mechanics in the game, since the game doesn't explain everything.
they kept sonic punch over masukukaja, when Yosuke's normal attack does more damage >.<
 
it's not that big a deal atm, but i'm afraid they'll really mess up something big later on, cause the skill descriptions aren't so great

You guys should really start using your items more often. You've already got a huge stack of things that restore ALL your SP without having to pay the fox. You can't use them in battle either, so that's what they're for.
 
You can also switch personas right after Mind Charge or Power Charge, so you can switch to Black Frost, Mind Charge, and when your turn comes up again you can switch to your best caster (the dudes with Fire Amp etc.) for maximum damage. You can also stack Tarukaja on top of the mind charge, so the maximum possible damage can go up to 250%

Believe it or not, it's the same voice actor that did the voice for Yosuke in P4. "

Know you don't wanna hear it, but I really think it's time to switch Chie for Teddie.

sadly Chie isn't much good for Ice, physical is what she gets real good at.
 
Teddie is your dude if you want strong ice spells.

The guys clearly have just completely forgotten about Sonic Punch.  It's part of the background when they check out Yosuke because they're so used to seeing it there.  I don't think they really realise it''s still there.  So it's not that they're making a bad decision - they're just completely missing something that's right in front of them.

Naoto blocks light and dark when you s.link her to 10.  I think she also becomes strong to fire.
 
Keep it up!  It's great to come home from work to the Endurance Run.

I don't think I quite realized this while I was playing through Heaven myself, but this dungeon is absolutely horrifying, more so than any other video game dungeon I remember playing. The entire theme is Nanako's repressed desire to be dead so she can be in Heaven with her dead mother. I imagine today and every day I live children will be killing themselves for an identical reason. Sort of beats the pants off Dark-Dungeon-With-Creepy-Things-That-Will-Bite-You.

And, man, this Endurance Run has been huge. It turned me from a guy who hadn't played a JRPG since Final Fantasy VII into a guy who has purchased FF Anthology, FF IX, Golden Sun, Devil Survivor, Grandia and dug out his Dreamcast for Skies of Arcadia. Watching you guys play made me want to play. So that's great. Too bad I never got a PS2, so I'm stuck DS and PS1 era games.
 
Still, oh, man, knowing just about as much about the system as you guys, it's killing me to see you make some of your decisions. Like the part where you had Black Frost in and were going to AE nuke some dudes with fire, but remembered that one had a reflect spell up, so you changed out for Garuda and did an AE with wind so you wouldn't take damage when he reflected. Guys! Guys! With Black Frost, not only would you not have taken damage, you would have healed for it! It would've been a big AE damage spell AND a heal! How awesome is that? SO AWESOME!
 
And for the love of god, use your items. You've got way more money than you have SP at any given time. All those 200 HP healing items can easily be replaced. So if you use those between battles, you won't be wasting SP between the battles.
 
Anyway, I'm loving it and I still love you, Vinny. Chie 4ever. 

 Masukukaja  like many other stat defense skill is quite useful.
 
It is the difference from getting game-over and winning with difficulty.  And certainly its better then sonic punch or even diarama ( if you are in a pinch you are better off using some more potent item instead of a meager 100-120hp)
 
But hey its not the first error they made and it won't be the last, persona 4 at normal its pretty forgiving they managed so far they will do again.

Let's hope Vinnie's girlfriend doesn't see this episode ;)

Guys, it's time to put Black Frost out to pasture.

Lol, poor Black Frost.

 Too bad about Masukukaja. That + Debilitate from Trumpeter pretty much makes every boss battle a piece of cake (though Debilitate alone does that in and of itself well enough).

Nope. Kanji has the highest strength stat so on paper he's the strongest in the party (not counting yourself of course) but Chie + Tarukaja + Power Charge + God's Hand is the hardest hitting phys attack in the game. "

Masukukaja is great because kghelps both offense and defense.  Nothing sucks more than power charging God's Hand and missing.  Also with Yosuke and Chie plus some agility /evasion items you'll never get hit again with Masukukaja.

Masukukaja was a good support skill for Yosuke, but I guess it can be overlooked. Vinny and Jeff should make a Trumpeter, he'll compensate for most buffs/debuffs they might be missing (Debilitate makes boss fights a whole lot easier).
 
I think the guys will enjoy using Chie in a couple of levels/episodes, after she learns Power Charge + God Hand and... Agneyestra? It's that comet move that does massive physical to all. Know it won't be till later, but Chie'll make a comeback with those moves.

I know it's been said a billion times, but for real, you guys need to pick Naoto or Chie and never, ever switch back. They get further behind and less useful every time you do it.

Yes, this is absolutely crucial. Although I'm way in favor of choosing Chie over Naoto, they need to pick one of them and stick with that character (or they need to invest in seriously levelling both girls, but we all know that is not the road they will take). "

I lol 'd when they said Mind Charge + Megidolaon was pointless when that's the type of move that needs Mind Charge the most. Mind Charging something like Agidyne is pointless, it just costs you more MP in the end. Mind Charging Megido Skills will let you do over twice the damage for less than the normal cost of casting it twice.

That's the first time you guys have not cleared a floor completely. Also until now I've never noticed the comic-book words that appear when you physically attack a shadow, cool.

This is wierd thing to say, but i think Persona 5 needs to adress the party leveling problem by having a mechanic sorta like the one in paper mario (I know i said it was a wierd thing to say but here me out) where you go into the battle with the group of 4 but can take someones turn to substitute when needed and everyone gains xp, levels, and learns skills. It would make the combat more in depth and fun.

I wonder if they will start giving those pop quizzes some sweet X-pushing treatment soon. 
Because if I remember correctly, they're maxed out on all abilities and S-links that get boosted by the quizzes. And don't you always get to know the correct answer if you get the answer wrong?

Honestly, they should have replaced Chie with Teddie as soon as they got him. He has some good ice spells, healing, and that party attack buff. Chie is pretty weak in comparison.
