"This has been practically a series of lessons on "how not to play" Persona 4 properly.  So I'm not sure if I want to see another endurance run after this, maybe if it's on a game that I don't give a crap about so I won't care how they botch it up. "
The fun of the ER is watching them play a game brand new to them and seeing their experiences with it. ANd like many others have said, is there a "wrong way" to play the game? Because if so, then that "way" is actually serving them pretty well. Everyone plays the Persona series in their own style, that is, unless you followed a FAQ or guide."
I'd call it more a matter of efficiency than style.  There are optimal ways (but probably not an optimal way) to play this game, ones they have not achieved.  They can't be blamed for this, since it's a genre, and series, somewhat unfamiliar to them.  They've done great despite many of the things they've skipped out on, however, and that's been entertaining to watch.

" I hope you jackasses know that they don't read the comments anymore especially this week since all the episodes are recorded since Jeff is out of the office. So all your crying and complaining is falling on deaf ears because not only do Jeff and Vinny not care (the very reason they stopped reading the comments) but neither does anyone else here. So, you can continue to bitch and moan and scream about "OMG! LRN2PLAY! I R PERSONA MASTA! YOU SUCK!" but no one gives a shit. If the way they play the game really bothers you THAT much, I suggest you get out a little more. "
Odd, that I have also noticed you yourself to be one that has begun to regularly make posts such as these.  If you don't mind my suggestion, perhaps no one "gives a shit" about about your grievances either, and perhaps the best course of action is to let the whiners continue whining ineffectually, and for you to also "get out a little more"? "
I'm fairly sure most users are just as annoyed as him but  they, like me, just don't feel like arguing with all the "PERSONA MASTAS".

@Manhattan_Project: Why argue against them at all?  Let the whiners whine.  Whining at the whiners accomplishes nothing and causes bigger headaches for all involved.

Try Devil Survivor on the DS.  It lets you do that and is awesome in general.

Fuse Loki! He is a badass! He gets a spell that is really awesome and I think only he can learn. I may not even be inheritable, but don't quote me on that. I think he also learns null fire or something that covers his weakness.

With limitations... Instead of having 8 open slots for any type of skill, every "Persona" (they're just called demons in Devil Survivor) has room for 3 active skills, 3 passive skills, and 1 "racial" skill (pretty much every demon in the game has a unique one of these, and you can't overwrite them, so they rarely factor into the equation when it comes to fusing).

So if you have 2 active skills in mind to pass on, but the resulting demon already has 2 active skills naturally, there's only one slot available, so you have to make some tough decisions.  It's a step in the right direction, but still not quite what I hoped for from a full-fledged  "pick which skills you want to inherit" system.

Lets get down to business... to defeat... the Huns!

EDIT: In Persona 3, I got 7 million yen by the end of the game. Did they change the money system, or was I stingy?

@CH3BURASHKA: First of all, did they send me daughters... when I asked... for sons?

Secondly, yes, they changed the money system. In P4, you get a small amount of money from every battle. In P3, you got no money from battle, just from Shuffle Time or from chests. Every once in a while, you'd find a chest with an insane amount of money. It was more luck than anything.

There was also one of Elizabeth's requests that got you 5 million by itself.

Vinny whistles way too fucking loud.  I have the volume on my laptop down quite a bit and the door to my room closed and my roommates, who are downstairs, can still hear it.

Besides riddles are supposed to be plays on words or based on general knowledge, you know fun stuff. Fucking Japanese nerds just don't get it *sigh*.

As much as I love this game, and I really do, watching the ER again really highlights that the way fusing works is absolutely absurd. I'm not saying you should be able to choose abilities, though I don't really think that'd be a problem, but the fact that they don't have a reroll button, forcing you to back almost all the way out every single time, is completely ridiculous.

Agreed. I just picked up Persona 3 Portable, and with the major number of changes and "fixes" to the game, I was expecting an easier way to reroll Personas' abilities. Nope, still gotta back out and select it again. =/ Makes no sense as to why they did it that way, since people will do that over and over again to get at least some of the skills they want.

okay.  suggestion for Person 5:

if there's fusing, and a persona can learn a particular spell, let the player pick that spell from a list.  This randomness is awful.

I'm watching the Endurance Run again for the second time. I remember feeling cool 12:50ish because I was 17 at the time and I did see Just One of the Guys.

@HerbieBug: I don't really like the random inheritance system, but I don't think simply picking any skill you want is the solution. Devil Survivor essentially let you do that, and it was lame. (The system, not the game.) At the end of the game basically every demon ended up with the same skillset.

What I want to see is them greatly restrict what can be inherited by each Persona, thus cutting down on the random shuffling, and also bring back the spell cards from P3P, letting you simply give a Persona a specific ability instantly. (Though I would probably restrict that a bit more too, since it was way too easy to make ridiculously overpowered Persona's in P3P.)

@Zeik: If you could just pick any skills you wanted, you could just make really powerful guys at your whim. I think that's the point of it being random.
