with the points of reference being used to deride this content, many of you seem like you've just never really looked at anything besides this very specific corner of games media for the last thirteen years.

Whether or not it ends up being a continuing thing for me, this is a super fun thing that’s ludicrous in the spirit Giant Bomb has always tried to carry. This would have made perfect sense in the Ryan era. This is the best addition to the site since Jess.

I don't get it and it's not for me but I totally get why people love this and the production is absolutely incredible - doing this live, I have NO idea how he even does that. I respect the hell out of that and for me it's totally awesome that it's here, even if it's not for me because guess what I can skip the things I don't want to watch on this site?!

@junpei: By brand, I don't mean video games, I mean the site personalities. I would rather the existing personalities do more content and less outside content they are trying to elevate. That's just me personally. I love The Very Online Show, I enjoy plenty of non video game content on this site, just not the content from outside creators.

i really don't understand why ppl like this .. i gave it another go thinking maybe it'll be different .. got 30 mins in n was like why am i doing this , i don't like this. the guy has skill considering its live i'll give him that but this is nonsense in the worst of ways .

After thinking about it for a few days, it occurred to me that this reminds me a lot of the Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson. It's a deconstruction / parody of a late night talk show.

This is such a slap in the face for longtime fans. They can't mix their audio right anymore but give this person money for their show on GB? This isn't going to generate anything. No way. Most people won't sit through more than 3 minutes of this.

Go back and watch any random video from a decade ago and tell me what you see. Chemistry, genuine clever well thought out comedy bits, cutting-edge live shows they still aren't replicated (check out the XCOM one where they have a guest, multiple live feeds, 3 in-person setups, all cut together seamlessly with great audio -- impossible now).

I hate these myths of "they have to try new things and see what works" when they stopped doing what used to work and are seemingly incapable of it. Mods have been trigger happy for so long silencing any negative feedback in fear of upsetting the site staff at reading it but it's really just gone so far where the product is nowhere where it used to be. All I could ever hope for now is being able to see the old stuff before all that vanishes when the site goes under (Jeff didn't even believe in his own site anymore...)

@heatdrive88: Fans of the site have been saying this for years and guess what? Most have moved on. Which is bad news for people like me that want in the very least for the site to continue to survive. Viewership is not great on YT/Twitch -- it was sad seeing Nextlander and Jeff pull in much bigger audiences when GB itself streamed at same time, not great splitting same audience 3-ways. Every video once had tons of comments and now very few. It's like G4 all over again.

I have no problem with this video and other content. There has always been stuff I skip on the site but they have neglected their core base and the audio quality has gone down as a whole so continuing to pay for more contractors is just dumb -- just as G4 blowing what little budget they had on more contractors was a dumb move.

At this rate, I just hope they allow fans to pay for the hosting itself for old stuff or at least share it out properly. This site really is a goldmine and it'd be sad if it vanished entirely which has happened to too many sites over the years. I would love if they found new audiences to continue to support it and even enable wierdo content but it just feels out-of-touch that of the few new things they added this is one of them in recent months since buyout.

Amazing stuff. Again, I was happy to catch some of this live. Can't wait to keep seeing this on the site.

been a premium subscriber of GB for about 10 years give or take. and this encapsulates all the weird that i love bout gb. i cant help but imagine that jeff approves of this whle heartedly, considering the old late night streams they did, his love for public access , tiim and eric and adult swim vibes this has

@lonelyspacepanda A few people have private archives of old content, so it shouldn't disappear entirely. I'm wondering if they'll ever introduce the tiered subscriptions they were talking about, because I'm another person who's just paying to keep up the archive. I don't know why new members would subscribe.

I watched ep. 1 and was basically like "wtf, no." Since then I have watched more of this nonsense on twitch, as well as the select stuff here on GB. As others have commented, I have come around to loving it. This site used to be absolutely full of nonsense fever dreams and that is part of what made it so great. Lots of people, myself included, have been calling for more wild shit basically ever since CBS bought the site. The best of times, in a lot of ways, for this website "about video games" was the non-video game times... just beautiful to have batshit nonsense here again.
