I love you Vinny but sometimes your hosting is frusterating. You guys hate talking about any game week to week, even if you enjoy it and play it a lot, but listening to 20 minutes a week plus about what Jeffs kid wants to watch Jeff play is super entertaining I guess.

@vinny: I decided to just go listen to the regular one and skip through the ads and I haven’t heard any yet so I think Premium is somehow in the regular slot??

Nah, they are doing some new dynamic ad stuff where it should insert ads if there are any and it's all done in the backend. If there currently aren't any then none will show up. We have to build in the breaks regardless. I'm still curious, honestly, to see it all working in action. Very new, very fancy.

The fair catch free kick is if you fair catch on put you technically have two options

1) the one everyone always does which is just go on offense

2) attempt a basically uncontested field goal

It basically exists because it was in the very early rules and the only reason it is still a rule in the NFL (the NCAA got rid of it) because it hasn't been attempted successfully so no one cares enough to just get rid of this rule that pops up every few years

I remember that Luigi's Mansion 3 Godzilla boss Abby's talking about. You've gotta split into Gooigi to get double the pushing power to get the orb to hit the boss consistently. There's nothing in the game to help you figure this out and I also died several times before I did.

This is a perfect example of my biggest gripe with LM3: there's so many tools to solve puzzles that playing through that game was a repeating cycle of losing 5-15 minutes thinking I needed to find something that would allow me to get past an obstacle when I already could have overcome it, I just didn't try the right tool (usually cause I forgot I could do that - air blast for example).

I still like that game overall, but this has been frustrating.

If Alex doesn't play the first Nier someday, I will riot. It's a little grindy but you've played much worse, it holds up. I hate asking people to go back to the PS3 though, as a first gen HDD console, it has NOT aged well.

Why are the last few episodes just called "/audio.mp3" in the rss feed as opposed to the regular episode name? Seems to break all my podcast programs.

War of the Chosen adds so much awesome content, you'll wonder how you ever got along without it. Can't wait til you make the switch to hear how it feels without the massive downtime between releases.

Also the ending is great and sets up a VERY clear path to a 3rd game.

This is for Jeff, I'm not sure if I would recommend Unravel 2 for you and your son. It's harder than it looks. My son is 7 and a half years old and there were plenty of parts he would get stuck at and not know how to proceed. It is co-op, but at times it can require some quick reflexes and a lot of button combos. I liked vinny's idea of revisiting Mario Odyssey

A point I'm surprised no one brought up, which is still a very real problem is... Broadband internet in the US sucks ass; regional monopolies, price gouging, poor service coverage and slow speeds, and data caps. This is especially true for anyone who doesn't live near a decent-sized city or on either coast.

Both Giant Bomb West & East live in large metro areas, some with access to fiber, where this isn't an issue, but for the rest of the US, this is a problem.

Auto-updating multiple oversized game "patches" could easily, and routinely, cripple your service or blow your data cap, incurring added fees. And that's just for Call of Duty.
