@jeffbakalar I graduated from a Baltimore high school in 2004, and I can confirm that you're remembering Brood X accurately. I think Maryland is the epicenter of them, or at least it sure felt like it. My friends and I were working on a student film that we had to rush production on to finish before they emerged in force, and our graduation was shunted indoors in mid-June humid helltimes. Fun!

So I'm not gonna get this 100% accurate but I wanna say Ending E was more or less a joke ending where the Drakengard protagonist go through a portal or something and end up in NYC fighting fighter jets on his Dragon and the blood of his dragon or something else from his world ends up causing the disease which ultimately leads to the extinction of humanity. So yeah technically its part of the Drakengard extended cinematic universe but mostly just as a framing mechanism to setup the world state of the Nierverse with the super plague.

I love how Alex bitches about the RE demo not having a village part even though it has that exact thing in it, if he had read literally any news on it or watched a single video or read the description on the store page he'd know and not make a fool of himself lol. I guess being a games journalist and reading gaming news don't go hand in hand.

Correction: even though you can just directly download stuff, itch has had an optional standalone client for a while now. I'm assuming the Epic itch app just launches that.
