I think the whole facebook friends instead of real friends - person on bus with head phones on and iphone in front of their face and going home and going online instead of having real friends over to the house and online dating will define the 00's to me. the death of socialization (which i think is coming back this decade). That was a real big shift in walking to class in college in the 90s with a friend verses walking at talking on a cell phone or even PRETENDING to talk on a cell phone instead, (they did studies that many people fake that stuff to not seem socially awkward).

I think Brad is very wrong about the turn of the century 2000 - 2010 not having an identity like the 70s or 80s. Drew nailed it that we are too close still to really see it. But as Vinny said not everyone was a hippie in the 60s. It was actually a really small group. But they got press because of woodstock etc... But they were a small minority.
In the 80s the Ramones weren't big until they got used in media later. But we picture people in the 80s all dressed like the Ramones. Some were. Not many.

So we craft a lot of that image after the fact. So all the iphone apple crap; the metro sexuals; and the hipsters with their Pabst and bikes; first black president; stretched ears; cat t-shirts (that might be more this decade - but I did it last decade), tattoos coming back big; Jersey Shore guys; the Xbox online kids playing Gears and Call of Duty at home by themselves instead of at friends house; nerd culture like the Wii and super hero movies and Doctor Who and Big Bang Theory getting into the mainstream; I can go on - will all be huge stereotypes of the 00s just like the big jenko (spelling?) jeaned skaters, and the NOFX punk kids and Marylin Manson goth kids were all small groups at my school but they will form my impression of the 90s.

This episode of the Bombcast was one of the most entertaining in a while. They're all great, but this one just has something special.

And hey @lackingsaint, I don't know if you take requests/suggestions, but that last email about the cat lady (~2:26:16) sounds like it could be a good GiantBomb Animated bit. Just a thought.

@mercury45: i personally think he's hilarious in a totally obvious cash-in/stereotypical Ninty character way. he just needs a proper game.

All the SNES talk at the end makes me want them to do a SNES live stream marathon.

All the Luigi hate bums me out lol. He's my favourite character.

I feel like the podcast with the ads should be on the premium stream, while the one without ads should be on the regular stream. That's how much I enjoy these ads.

I liked the mini Islands in the Stream duet from Vinny and Jeff, and then I really like how Jeff immediately went to this:

I don't mind the endorsements at the start of the podcast. Too damn funny.

I've heard exitement in Vinny"s voice bout playing BF4 with Jeff. This should happen, guys :) Endurance run it is not.

Really hope the Mario/Luigi/Sonic discussion gets the animated treatment.

I think the bombcast would improve immensely with a new segment between news and emails called "Trashin on Luigi".

There really needs to be animations of the "sonic talking luigi into breaking nintendo from the inside" and "the death of luigi" segments.

Drew was talking about Alexis teaching him to golf, and due to all the quasi-homoerotic vibe between the two of them (most of which originated from the community and that one video), all I could imagine is Alexis standing behind Drew and doing that thing where you bearhug the other person while holding their arms and doing the golfing motion as if you're teaching them, when you're actually just spooning. And then he says, "Don't worry bro - no homo."

@lackingsaint Take notes! That Crazy Catlady segment could be pretty disturbing, but these should make up for some great stuff as well.
