Giant Bombcast 06-12-2012

With E3 2012 mostly behind us, and our bodies brimming with coconut water and Portillo's, we step up to the plate with a Japanese curveball of StarCraft II: Heart of the Swarm, car adventures, Jason Rubin, Tomb Raider, and more.

The Giant Bombcast is the world's most beloved video game podcast, and now it's available in video form.

Hey, can anyone remember the name of the sandwitch place they keep talking about? Would be easier to read it here than to search for it in the podcast.

@Wezmon: It's really the tie that takes so long. Three fingers and all.

@chose: Do you react differently when you see a man punch another man in the face as opposed to a man punch a woman in the face? I almost cringe at the site of a woman getting punched or kicked in a violent manner because I am not used to seeing women in violent altercations. That is the emotional reaction that the developer is most probably referencing when talking about Tomb Raider and it has nothing to do with sexism. Furthermore please don't tell me conspiracy theories about what "they" want me to believe. Seeing how radically different men and women are I don't see how it's even possible to strive for complete equality. In the workforce, referencing job placement and compensation? Absolutely. On an emotional level? Never.

Okay, I read the article.

Jeff's right. Fuck that dude. That's some major bullshit, that undermines the concept of doing this "Lara Croft Begins" thing that they seem to be going for.

Why the FUCK are they reading Kotaku.

Its an inflammatory cancer of a blog, just writing shit to get views. It is literally making the games industry look awful, it is not exposing stuff, it needs to die. From writing about sexist fighting game community to constantly mis-quoting people, they are scum.

EDIT: Also you can not get angry at Laura Croft being vulnerable, without seeing lollipop chainsaw as an affront to society. That is completely degrading to women, and cannot be saved by calling it satire. The new Laura Croft is just making her seem more like a real woman, not freaking superwoman.

Also ICO is solely based on making you care about a girl, wanting to protect her. Its not creepy, its meaningful.
