It's kind of strange to me not to just keep the camera rolling on the video version and include this part as well. Maybe the video would be too long?

@hassun: People would complain about the calls infringing on the bombcast if that were the case. I think people can only accept this as its own separate thing that they can actively avoid.

@ripelivejam: I would keep the audio versions separate. That is the true Bombcast after all.

@semi_sauce: Sure but I'm just wondering what their motivation is for not archiving the video.

Real talk tho, it sucks we didn't get more World Peace or other big budget Sam Hyde productions out of Adult Swim (don't have an opinion on Tim's hand in it because I haven't researched the validity of the accusations myself)

Enjoy these a lot. One comment is I notice the audio levels are really low.

I tried like hell to justify my steam controller purchase. I finally hung it up.

I will always feel disappointed about Half life 3. Not raging or anything silly, just disappointed about what it all means in terms of Valve and those good games they used to put out. Brad explained it succinctly a few weeks ago, if not what I wanted to hear and why for.

I'm not reading no script or show any interest in it.

When it comes to toxic fanbases, Overwatch can be pretty vile. It's such a team oriented game and people will throw games if someone picks a hero they don't like, or will scream over chat/voice if they think someone is underperforming.

Gotta disagree with Jeff and what seems like general sentiment: I loved my Steam controller so much I bought a second. I find it really comfortable and am continually amazed by what its customizability allows for. It's also one of the few controllers out there with paddles.

As someone who got a steam controller to be my primary PC controller, that thing works great. The sheer customizability (and ease of customization) is a huge plus to me. The only issue I've run into (and it's a very niche issue) is that it doesn't seem to play well with certain programs, like Chip's Challenge and my NES emulator. Otherwise, nothing but positive things to say about it.

I feel like this format needs a little somethin'-somethin' to differentiate it more from the emails section of the Bombcast. A majority of the calls and chat input are just people asking their question and then discussion... so basically the same as the emails. Maybe if there was more discourse between hosts and callers? (Not that I'm complaining. I'll listen to these anyway, because of my potent Giant Bomb dependency.)

Yeah me and a friend played the hell out of that. I remember it being really difficult so we had to really communicate with each other as we went to get past each section. Felt very tactical at the time.

@gestalt_shaker: I've got a steam controller but I haven't put enough time into it to get over the 'hump' of getting used to a track pad instead of a joystick. But lately i've been playing NMS a lot and switching between mouse and keyboard when on foot and controller when in the air so maybe the steam controller will be a good in between...?

Given that the Bombcast can usually go for almost 3 hours, calling the aftershow the "4th Hour" would make a lot of sense.

I own four Steam controllers and they're great. Jeff's take on the Steam controller sounds exactly like someone who messed around with it a little bit a few times and never put any actual time or effort into it. It is very different from traditional analog controllers and has a learning/skill curve that just takes a bit of time; the potential is tremendous and worthwhile.

@nonesun: MDE's commitment to saying exactly what they wanted to say was never going to mix well with a network breathing down their neck, although I do wonder if things would have gone down differently if Sam would have ignored the BuzzFeed hit piece.

I think the biggest kicker here is that MDE predates Tim and Eric to some degree. I believe some of their initial work (Tissue Box?) was shopped around to a few networks.

I think Doom worked with a silent protagonist. Also, I still find it awkward people chose Gordon Freeman as the best video game character some years back on GameSpot.

The Steam controller is one of the most useful gadgets I own. Considering the team's opinions on gyro aiming, it's not surprising they don't like it. For playing shooters, it's an essential feature of the controller that elevates it above a standard two-stick, 14-button controller.

Steam controller is great, it's not going to replace any demanding game for either gamepad or M/KB but for stuff like strategy, ARPG's, and 4x games it works great. I have 800hrs in Grim dawn with it and wouldn't want to play it any other way. It did take about a month to get used to it though.

Just a suggestion, but perhaps it would help the flow of the show if Ben or Jason was off air connecting the calls and then throwing them to Jeff and Ben/Brad once they have the person on the phone and talking?
