Playdate: Goosebumps - Escape From Horrorland (11/07/2018)

I read and collected all 64 goosebumps books in the 90’s. I’m a huge goosebumps fan.

yooooooo I played this with my brother/friend at least annually when we were kids. Been a while since the last time we played, this should be entertaining.

I owned this game as a child. Or one very similar to it. My computer was so shitty back then that I could barely run it. Most of the FMV ran at 1 FPS or froze/crashed before I could get to the actual game parts. I vividly remember a part where you go through a roller coaster in a forest maze. It crashed the game every single time.

Goodness, my brother and I put so many hours into this game. We played through it a ridiculous number of times.

The pumpkin part...that's the hardest I've laughed at anything in awhile. Holy shit, that's so stupid.

the particle effects in the crypt scene... nice

Geez Bakalar was a huge grump in this. Why show up if all you're going to do is complain the entire time?

Last 20 minutes of this show was the best.

I remembered the mummy shooting that kid...from a screenshot in a review from 1997. I'm so glad my brain stores important things like this.

Game seemed pretty frustrating to play, but it made for a good Playdate! Except for that cropped view of the browser, that was the most frustrating thing ever.

Yeah I dunno Dan, it seems kinda shitty to be a random dick towards a dude who almost died this year.... but hey, you keep... doing your thing, I guess.

Going through film studies and video production over years with different teachers had me watching some films multiple times. I never had to watch Birth of a Nation, but it was on some lists of suggested films to study.

This game reminds me a lot of the Muppet Treasure Island FMV game; it was surprisingly well made and featured almost the entire cast of the Muppet Treasure Island film reprising their film roles. Also, the bugs crawling on the screen is totally Bad Mojo inspired.

That golden child reference from Vinny during the pyramid puzzle :p
