Audio download appears to be broken and this isn't in the Premium Podcasts feed. Can GB staff look into this? I think it's been happening for a few episodes now.

Edit: download is working now, a few minutes later. Previously tried on two different computers/browsers and the raw MP3 would load in the browser, but the download operation would just hang, never starting.

Google Reader? That was discontinued on March 13, 2013. Jeesus Jeff why would you bring up a traumatic tragedy like that?

But if you want a good online RSS-reader I would recommend feedly.com
Feedly also supports Youtube channels and playlists as sources which saved me from when Youtube shut down their RSS-feeds for youtube channels

OG Gameboy doesn't really have many great games, but Donkey Kong is one.

The only other ones I would say are the Pokemon games, Zelda, and Tetris.

I get Meijer NO SALT tortilla chips. Salted chips ruin the salsa experience to me. There's enough salt in salsa as is.

It depends where your expectations are. Super Mario Land 1 is a little rough to be honest, but Super Mario Land 2 is an interesting, weird pseudo-sequel to Super Mario Bros. 3 in terms of game design and complexity. It doesn't really hold a candle to Super Mario World which it unfortunately came out pretty close to, but the Game Boy hardware was never in a position to compete with the SNES.

Overall the Game Boy is pretty hamstrung by its NES control scheme, especially when it had another like 11 (!!!) years of life after the SNES came out before the GBA finally added some more inputs. The 13-year generation of the Game Boy-Game Boy Color is pretty wild.

The Game Boy almost had the PSP problem where at first they were trying too hard to make portable (and inferior) versions of their big console hits, and only in the later Game Boy (then GBA) era did they start doing a better job of making original handheld series made for the hardware. Also, for as much as Giant Bomb and Jeff in particular has always focused a lot on revisiting old games, I swear Jeff has spent more on-air time playing bad Atari Lynx games than playing any of the actually good Game Boy games. Kinda fucked up.

Some educated guesses for the THQ event:

Gothic 1 remake (had a concept demo, and was already confirmed a while back)

Destroy All Humans 2 remake (teased a while back in a Destroy All Humans 1 remake accolade trailer I think)

Darksiders 4, it's been 3 years since the last one (the isometric one was made by the Battle Chasers team, who are currently doing the League of Lengends spinoff.)

A new Spongebob game. (being teased on twitter)

There'll be more but that could be a lot of things as they own a lot of franchises now and I'm not 100% what fall under THQ/Deep Silver etc.

@antivanti: I also moved to Feedly, but for a podcast phone app including premium/private feeds, I recommend Player.fm I can't speak as to the iphone app, but on android it has all the auto download/sync/bookmark options, and you can group feeds by auto/custom tags and multiple playlists for local files.

You can even set the amount to skip back/forward respectively which I find useful. The only thing missing is I need a separate app (Frinky Music Controller) to do the volume up/down skip with the phone in my pocket since my current phone doesn't do it natively.

He answers too many pie-in-the-sky “what are the chances of a (random game) remake?” questions. Of course he won’t have any real information on some random game that somebody is wishing for.

Stadia keeps getting a good clip of new (and old) games ported to the platform, and it's easily the best tech in the cloud space (at least for my location). I've tried them all, Stadia works the best for me on my internet.
