Still can't watch this, or any other video. Everything is taking forever to download for us UK peeps apparently; any word on a fix?

Not reviewing Baston is a cop out. Professional journalists shouldn't be swayed by personal involvement and so a move like this makes me question all your previous reviews I've disagreed with? Surely there is someone at Giant Bomb who can give us a verdict for this product we've been following. Stand up for what you believe in, honest game reviews not effected by outside influence... that's how the site started wasn't it?

Maybe I was a little harsh with my previous comment, but I find the promoted review system of Giant Bomb with the refusal to acknowledge their influence a contradiction. I say leave them hidden inside the link not on the main page. "What's good for the goose, should be good for the gander"... whatever that means?.. LOL.

Also, the obvious reason that Bastion won't be "properly reviewed" is that if they did - no matter how they disclaimed it or how they reviewed it - people would be spamming "durp durp GiantBomb sold out in the forums".

A perfect example is Trenched, where it got a review and some idiots went apeshit. I would suggest just writing a review but leave the rating off. Just to show how stupid the outrage is.

I like that idea of the review without the rating. Also agree with everything else you both said. Of course, we'll never see that idea put into practice, but it would be nice to see.

Metacritic would still try to tie a number to it.

They said up front they wouldn't do a review of Bastion, before the actual exclusive looks began. So all the people whining are just late to the party. The whole idea was to let the Giant Bomb community see how a small team develops a game, which is a far more worthwhile goal than a single review.

Plus the game looks amazing anyway, so no review needed. Just take my damn money, Kasavin!

 
I'm going to buy it as well, I don't care if GB does a review. If you check out other websites like G4 and Gametrailers  most of their staff are excited about this game, and from what I've seen so far it's a must buy for me.
