I'm a big Marvel fan but had my doubts about this one and... I'm afraid this quick look didn't make me feel like rushing out to pick this up either. Ah well.

@arcadefire: He summed it up perfectly. It's meat loaf and potatoes. And sometimes that's what I'm craving...

I wanted Jeff to discuss his feelings about this when compared to Marvel Heroes, but I'm happy that he's a father now and is super busy.

Damn, this just makes me miss MH.

I'm no Jeff Gerstmann, but I have played both those games.

Ultimate Alliance 3 is not as replayable or sharp/precise as Heroes Omega, gameplay-wise. It is strictly a sequel to Ultimate Alliance 2: it's corny and kinda janky. But if you like beat 'em ups with a decent difficulty curve upward, and if you like the Marvel stuff, with a LOT of emphasis on the comics, it's worth a buy.

Since it's a Switch exclusive, there's probably never going to be a price cut. But it should probably be $40-50 instead of $60 with $20 DLC.

The reason you guys were taking so long to defeat enemies is because you weren't using the synergy/team up attacks. They stun enemies quickly and can then be used to stagger them further.

It's really sad how many outlets are just glossing over the total bullshit that they are gating iconic Marvel characters (some of whom were in UA 1 and 2) behind a fucking paywall. Like it's already a premium price game with day one DLC to unlock old characters. Sorry, this shit is unacceptable. Why do stupid people keep paying for this?

We only know four of the paid DLC characters so far and this game already has a much bigger and more diverse roster than the previous games, with Cyclops and Colossus coming for free next month (and others shortly after, going by datamining).

While I'm not a Deadpool fan, the move they've given him - where he triggers the bifrost and comes back with two Mjolnirs - is quite good.

Thanks for the QL, Jason, Ben and Jan!

There is no Day 1 DLC. The first DLC pack is free and drops August 30. The season pass won't have it's first release till fall. Deadpool can be unlocked early but you get him half way through the campaign. Like litereally were they are in the quick look is where you get him.

@magusmaleficus: I, and perhaps others, would find it useful if you explained what you mean by your comment.

I dug it. I though it was a fun enough game. Will definitely play-through for the extra content. The graphics didn't look too bad on my tv but appeared a bit rough on when I played handheld.

Ugh. Why is Wolverine so tall? I blame the X-Men films.

Did Jason straight-up call Ben Brad at the 10-minute mark?

That's what I heard.

I find the progression system in this game too complex. We have this multi level cube for adding stats, gems, experience and more.

The previous games had a simpler system. I just want to get in there and kick butt.
