Sweet! this is where i stopped metal gear! i never played 3,4 and so Drew And Dan are providing a service! this way ill be able to jump into 5 with a complete picture of Metal gear! or at least thats the plan lol

@winship: That is everyone's experience that I know, yet people regard MGS3 as the best one. I think they must be talking about Subsistence as I remember everyone hating 3 at the time due to the camera/radar and all the UI issues with the healing.

Weird how Drew cannot distinguish faces.

Oh, Dan, you tool, why would you just tell Drew right at the beginning that this is Big Boss? Trying to figure out who the hell Naked Snake is was half the fun of working out MGS 3's storyline, and it takes all of the impact out of the final reveal. :P

Fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuck man. I really want to go back in time so I can watch this series again for the first time.

On the Ocelot fight: At least modern day folks who carry firearms always carry with one in the chamber. I think the reason why they did the 'draw and cock the weapon' thing wasn't because of any Israeli technique, I think they were just trying to continue the connection between young Ocelot and old Ocelot - the older one using a cowboy style revolver which does not have a dual action trigger.

Also... This twisting the elbow thing to absorb recoil, that was just a load of hooey. That's not a real thing, let alone a 'revolver technique'.

I think this is the best single episode of Metal Gear Scanlon. Just so much amazing stuff in it!

I started with this series, watched through 4 and V, then 1 and 2, and now I'm here again. Time to rewatch with that sweet, sweet added context.

That Bond style opening was amazing, maybe the best thing I've seen in MGS so far.

That hearty laugh at Snake smiling was hilarious (57:04)
