Hey Drew and Dan, have you thought about trying MGS3's multiplayer after you're done with the story? The official master server has been down for many years now but the smart cookies at https://savemgo.com/ have reverse engineered the regional gobal servers so people can still play together and made a bunch of tutorials on how to get setup. Once you're done with the story Drew will be fighting fit to take others on right? Possible live show perhaps?

Could this be the end Of MGS as we know it?

God I need this. One of the best Boss fights in video game history!

Yesssss! I was expecting a 2+ hour episode of just crawling. I look forward to how Drew goes about The End.

With Drew going through the backpack it just dawned on me to place claymores on each sniper spot. I take it that's one way to kill The End?

I wonder how many grenades it takes to kill The End...

Besides the ending stuff of MGS 2, this is my most anticipated episode of this whole series. I now need to sleep, i'll watch it in the morning.

I was worried at first when they missed the SVD, but I realized that slow, deliberate sniping would just frustrate Drew in the end. Whatever. It all works out in the end.

The memories.

I started Upper School that September in 2001 and just remember all the big cool kids had their own area the lower years couldn't go into. They'd be blasting this song and they all seemed so big and old, yet looking back they were only 16-18 lol.

Miss those times, GTA 3, MGS2 and the whole news being dominated by 9/11.

You people greatly exaggerate the time it takes to kill The End. I did it all stealth and sniper like and it only took like 25 minutes at the most.

I remember my first time fighting The End taking 10-15 minutes or so. People talking an hour-plus over the years was something that caught me by surprise.

@sankis: Oh it wasn't that bad back in the day! The annoying thing was all the people who were insanely good at it (or hacking, which I seem to remember being a problem).

Why didn't they just tell him up front about the guy dying of old age? It's not a spoiler if they weren't going to take a week long break, they already told him about being able to snipe him earlier on in the game.

I'm looking forward to this episode more than anything in this series so far. I beat this game for the first time like three weeks ago and didn't get to fight The End because I sniped him on the docks and didn't really understand what had happened until way, way later in the game.

Edit: @drewbert really brought it this episode. Did a fantastic job with The End and came out of it being way more patient and sneaky in general. Started using the tranq gun, crawling around, not engaging with enemies he could just sneak past. You could tell he was enjoying the game more for it.

This is the kind of Metal Gear Scanlon I want to watch, and by far the best episode of this "season." We're talking orders of magnitude better. Please keep playing this way, Drew! I don't know why you keep saying you feel rushed, but you really need to get out of that way of thinking! Even if you absolutely have to stop recording after an hour or w/e, all you have to do in this game to save and quit is go from one area to another and all the areas are really small so you can pretty much save and stop recording at any time, give or take like five minutes. Please, please, please just keep taking your time with this game like you did this episode. Really proud of you, duder. -wipes tear-

@pdxsonic: is this the end of dog racing?

I'm sure people have said it before, but the % camo thing is a reduced percentage from the base visibility distance. So if an enemy had 100 ft vision range, 75% camo would mean he would have to get within 25 ft to see you. It's not a dice roll, it's a vision reduction percentage. It will also show a different % rating on the menu depending on if you're standing or prone, so don't assume that the best camo for standing up is the best for lying down.

oh man i forgot this was going up at 9, i should be writing my lab report but fuck it

America's Army was so cool! Just a shame they ruined it with the buggy mess of the third and then the COD clone thing they released recently. It had so many innovations other FPS games still don't have today and stuff that COD gets praised for pioneering, when really AA did it way before.

That medic presentation was like 30 mins and if you failed you had to watch it all again. It taught me so much and you actually had to use what you learnt and apply it to actual game mechanics. So you could use the wrong treatment and actually kill a friendly and then lose points for it.

I loved all the progression and training that game had and I loved the detailed maps and how you couldn't just run and gun, it was so tactical.

These kind of games are so hard to come by now, Insurgency and Red Orchestra 2 are in the same vain but they don't go as hardcore with it like all the training stuff.

Good kill Drew. That's a fun way to do it.

An hour and a half? Does he finish him off this episode? It took me like three hours when I played!
