BTW I downloaded the HD version and it seems fine [through 40m] (there is corruption at the very start before loading the save, but after that was fine & no sync issues for me). So maybe a fixed version has been uploaded.

Watching Drew grow into fan of Metal Gear has been incredible.

As much as I like this series, watching Drew struggle against the bosses is an exercise in futility.

Oh man, so true. I have no idea why he (and Dan also) focus on utterly the wrong thing so much. Jason must be going nuts.

In the last three minutes or so of the HD version (I downloaded it), the video completely stopped right after Meryl and Snake say goodbye after the Mantis fight. But the audio kept working just fine.

Wow, you guys are awesome for blasting through this with 1 episode every day. Is there any other reason than to make sure to finish before mgs5?

It's kind of rude to point out when some one forgets, or doesn't make a logic leap about something. Oh yes.. its trolling to not remember every minutia of a game overstuffed with plot threads everywhere.

It's called playing a game. The only thing I didn't understand is why Drew didn't think using the dolls wouldn't be fun. Also they did blunder a bit not syringing Meryl. After trying it on the Dead B&B troops already. These things happen, It is much easier to say how some one else should play a game. When you have more knowledge of the game than them. It's like watching some one else play tetris, when they don't know the best stacking techniques.(And don't want to bother learning anything else but just stacking the pieces where ever.)

Well on the bright side, there's basically one corridor or scarabs left and then all the gameplay after is so different that I won't have to be annoyed that drew doesn't know or read half the controls anymore. Although some of the nuances of that final fight may elude him, on Normal mode I doubt he'll need more than a single try.

Here's our most valuable military asset. He's really old and broken, so let's strap him to a catapult and just throw him at a boat and hope he doesn't die on impact. Also, let's have him carry our MG Mk 3 device like a baby, with all its extremities exposed instead of having it tuck itself into a compact, more secure shape. It's not like we don't have anymore.

I would understand if it was a minor plot point, but the fact that Liquid has taken over the System is basically the BIG THING at this point in the game. Not to mention that Dan is constantly extolling the virtues of the story, and so far he's obviously known what's going on (not to mention, he does frequently remember even minor points). I don't know, that part just left me puzzled.

As for the other part, totally got it and that's what I come to this series for. I don't recall ever saying how he should have done something BTW. And I doubt I have more knowledge of the game, it's more like the "playing while talking" effect because most of the time, it's something that's obvious if you pay attention (e.g. strings connected to Snake, the blue doll saying it's for dead people).

i agree that the B&B storylines are waaaay too much. the characters have no earlier presence, so its not like we care about them. and the "war is bad" writing is unusually heavy handed for kojima. also, its hard to take their tragedy seriously when you can put on J-pop and make them dance and pose.

Gotta hold R1 with two handed weapons to do the CQC not tap it!! AAAHHH!!!!

For the record, the reason why the Sorrow doll wouldn't work on Mantis is because it only has an effect on the dead. It says so in the description of the item. The Mantis doll says it affects the souls of the living, which is why it's red.

Are all the re-animated enemies with the Mantis boss fight meant to be all dark and covered in soot or whatever?

Or is that only because Drew killed them with the grenade launcher? If so, that's neat.

Dude.. every day you post how sick the writing makes you and what a terrible person Kojima is. It's bizarre. Loosen up or just don't play these games I mean if you have such a violently adverse reaction to this stuff why do you continue submitting yourself to it?

I think it's cute how Mei Ling pronounces the word fire. She says it like FIER, where the E is emphasized just a little too much. I want to marry someone who pronounces the word fire like Mei Ling does. That's my true dream in life.

I for one love Drews approach to the boss fights!

Only problem is he approaches them with the use of real world logic...

That first section on GW was the best, but I can see how it would kinda suck for Drew when he goes in guns blazing. It's designed so that your sneak around, and when you do it's really tense because the Frogs don't have pre-determined patterns like in other sneaking scenarios, they are actively looking for you in caution status. There is no wait in a box for 30 seconds until the caution phase goes away and the constant respawning is discourage that gun ho approach.

I just remember it being really fun and to see Drew just blitz past it was surprising.

I'm punching myself in the face until I'm knocked out, so I can wake up tomorrow for the glorious finale of this series.

Even by Japanese pervgame standards Beauty&Beast corps makes no sense. That means the latest Senran Kagura game, the upskirts photography game, GalGun PS4, the stuff sold at the 88th comiket that's running this weekend make more sense. Senran Kagura's producer is pretty clear about things too.

The weapon selection screen has a graph that shows the exact damage a weapon does in numbers.

CQC with the M4 is used by HOLDING R1.

I want to say that during one of the Screaming Mantis cut scenes you can see the ghost of The Sorrow chilling out on the upper balcony, but its been so long since I played that fight I'm not sure if that's just something I read somewhere.

I like this better. Not everything needs to be super heroic, and there is some beauty in the melancholiao of going out with a whimper, not a bang.
