This was probably my favorite segment this year. Everyone was vibin off each other and it's a super interesting game design problem that I too am facing at the moment. Awesome stuff. Also, all of your games look great!

In regards to that discussion near the end (35 minutes or so), I've never been interested in playing the GTA games in large part because of their mostly realistic worlds and characters. I don't want to step into those shoes and cause that mayhem. On a similar note, I tended to drive quite carefully and make consistent dialogue choices while playing LA Noire, because it felt right for the character and story.

Saints Row 2-4 and Just Cause 2 on the other hand are goofy and cartoonish enough that I can enjoy them as escapism without feeling guilty about collateral damage.

I don't envy developers and writers trying to nail tone, immersion and gameplay at the same time.

Really great group of guests. Seems like they were all interested in each others work as well so overall a very good segment.

Mamma mia this was such a great segment. 90% of it was on the guests but I also think there's value to having 1) a smaller group and 2) everybody being able to look at each other while talking (rather than people being on the chairs behind, and the folks on the couch having their back turned to them). This year's night shows were all awesome, and I hope there are more segments like this one next year.

This was definitely one of the better segments this year. Really cool stuff, I wouldn't mind they kept it going another hour.

I remember the chat during this just being everyone dunking the Google drone who couldn't give a straight answer to any question. Wish I had posted something in the comments like that for posterity, but yo that Google guy sucked then and still sucks.

@unrealdp: I think you're referring to the Stadia pr guy who was on the couch with the id guys, not this guy!

@juanarturo: I literally just saw this and it seems too late to say, but you're absolutely right. I got my Stadia stans mixed up. Main reason I said anything was that I was thrown off there weren't more comments here about it, and now that makes a lot of sense. The actual video with Jack Buser on Nite two is the one where he just talks about how much he loves putting Google branding on his opinions. It super sucks!
