My guess: A three minute run, and 27 minutes talking about random things to hide the fact that it's a three minute run.

@burgavo: I was having that on earlier videos, switched to progressive and it was ok.

@nawaba: Switching from Chrome to Firefox seemed to fix it for me (Mac OS).

I didn't try the progressive player in either browser, so I'll try that if it happens again.

I have joined the group of people who don't look at the timestamps, and I have to say, it really does up the excitement by quite a lot. Great show all around.

I have the same weird issue of the video randomly stopping and wanting to skip to the next video.

@burgavo: yeah this happened to me too! I just had to seek to the same spot I was in the video and the audio came back

I'm going to savor the mental image of Ben just throwing arrows at monsters like bank robbers throwing their guns at Superman, while polka music plays in the background.

I'd love to see you guys try NetHack after this. It's more complicated but also more survivable, in the sense that there's usually something you could have done differently when you die. Rogue I think is more just random all the way through.

Also, don't hold down the keys, that will definitely get you killed :)

Since watching this I now keep picturing the Fifty Centaur being ridden about by the members of Nickelback. I chuckle every time. My kids probably think I'm bonkers.

As for Rogue, I remain pleased that I can watch Ben play this rather than play this myself. I have little issue with games with randomized/procedurally generated elements, but this seems to lean too much into chance. If I were to play and win, I would be left thinking that it's not because I did anything correctly, but because the virtual die rolls over which I have no influence were in my favor.

Just wanted to echo others here and say I am really loving this series!

Why not rest to max health? :p Can something happen while resting?

Does the video keep crapping out randomly for anyone else?

@heatdrive88: The audio will cut out, but if I fast-forward or rewind, it comes back right away. But it always cuts out at the same point.

Yeah video often stops playing for me randomly and "up next" shows. You're better of just downloading them and watching that way, fortunately the videos are very small due to low required bitrate.

It really is true that unexplored dungeon is your friend not your foe though, especially early on.

You should be salivating over every K and B you can get your mace on in the first few floors, not rushing for the stairs.

I highly recommend the app "Pathos" if you want to play something of a more modern take on this. The Pixel Dungeon games are actually really good too.
