Loved this, thanks Jan! I'm playing Pokemon but still get confused with what beats what. Find myself thinking things like: "Well... earth grounds lightning so lightning Pokemon must be ineffective against ground types" then watching lightening trash my Geodude. If anyone knows a simple powers diagram please do link me.

Just wanted to chime in with everyone else and say this was a great stream. Jan is my favorite type of person; someone who is very earnest in their interests. It lets him talk with confidence and excitement (even when he is in unsure situations) and it's wildly infectious. I'd love to see more of this, especially when the new Switch game comes out. Ben and Jeff on color commentary would be amazing as well.

Just got done watching this and despite not caring about Pokemon at all I thought it was pretty riveting.

Please do more of these, also just one request Jan if you can: Please, crush your opponents... crush all of them.

As someone who loves Pokémon and competitive gaming, I hate competitive Pokémon; that being said, I do love seeing someone who knows their shit. Jan being super knowledgeable about the meta made this a treat, and I'd love to see it again!

Fully on board for more PokeMONday Night Combat! Lifelong pokemon fan but I never got into battling but I like to watch them!

More of this, Ive never actually seen decent pokemon play and this is awesome. Ive played a bunch of the games but only ever single player and you never really need to engage too much with the higher levels of play due to the low difficulty

This was great fun! Loved Jan's intimate knowledge of the series and teaching people like me who only play pokemon extremely casually what the other side is like. Well done Jan for carrying a whole video solo - seems like it would be intimidating but you were flawless!

I didn't know all hazard removal was removed in these games. That's just. . .wow. How in the world does the decision get made to allow Stealth Rock, one of the most divisive moves around, without providing a means of countering it?

i played pokemon religiously in my youth & adolescence but never touched competitive battles so this is fascinating to me. even my roommate who admittedly hates pokemon watched & seemed interested throughout, even comparing it to watching serious poker games. that second battle had me on the edge of my seat! keep it up, can't wait to see some crazy lineups from both sides.
