As someone who first took interest in Cricket because of the quick look, the joke about hitting a batter in the face cut pretty deep due to the fact that Phillip Hughes passed away from just that. #63NotOut

It is cool seeing how much GB has impacted me and that's why I stay Premium.

I miss VJ sports quick looks. I don't even like sports games... or sports in general really.

But the one thing I can't get over is the umpire. He's standing right in the damn way. Like, imagine if the umpire in baseball stood almost directly in front of the pitcher for the entire game and not behind home plate. It seems ridiculously unsafe.

That's the only position he can make out calls from properly though. And it's not really that unsafe - you're not going to get batsmen firing balls straight at the other wicket very often.

I also wouldn't be surprised if the balls travel a lot slower than in Baseball

To expand on this, a batsman usually won't be trying to hit the ball straight back -- it's a good way to be caught out -- and the umpire has enough time to react anyway. The speed probably isn't that different - a returned shot can still get up to 100mph, and a cricket ball is harder and heavier.

If you want unsafe though, check out fielding at silly mid-on/off (guy on the right of the image below). You're directly in the line of fire, and have virtually no time to react. Even with a helmet, it's a daunting place to be (misjudging a catch there is a good way to break a finger/getting hit in the knee hurts like hell).
