This is wild, real talk. BlazBlue Cross Tag means a lot to me, and to be on the Quick Look for it feels amazing. And to see Chie, Yukiko, Brosuke, Charlie Tuna, Kanji, and Naoto all together again in 2018 got me emotional. I hope y'all enjoy this! Shouts out to Ben and Jason for the invite!

After being really bummed out by actually playing FighterZ, I'm REALLY excited about this game as it seems way more my speed. More P4A with a tag mechanic, less MvC bullshit. Also this game letting me (eventually) use a team of Weiss and Naoto is a dream I didn't know I had until it was announced.

Worth noting re: DLC (since, though not so much in this video, there seems to be a lot of confusion/misinformation):

There are 20 characters in the base game.

There are going to be 20 more as DLC.

6 packs of 3 (with one BlazBlue, Under:Night, and Persona character), and the last two RWBY characters.

The two RWBY characters are going to be free, as is the first DLC pack (Platinum, Orie, and Kanji). The first of the RWBY characters (Blake) and this first pack, are available day one.

The game is $50, all the DLC together is $20, or the "digital deluxe edition" for $70 which is everything. And honestly, for a 40 character fighting game, that's not bad to me.

It's anime enough. Maybe it's american made and only anime inspired, but it also hits the right marks that it get imported to Japan and dubbed with Japanese. Like genres in video games, sometimes genre definitions blur over time.

(Too bad Season 5 sucks. I miss Monty Oum. Creator of Haloid and Dead Fantasy before being lead animator on Red vs Blue and then creating RWBY.)

Auto combos again? Hmm...
I'm waiting for an anime fighter to grab me, i love the art, i love the sensibilities, i love the way the combos look but they're just too hard. Arc have been trying to enable new players with simplified mechanics, namely auto combos, but it always feels like too much of a shortcut to me, hitting a button repeatedly isn't fun or rewarding, and being defeated by someone who hit a button repeatedly feels hollow.
There must be a better way to make these games more approachable.

really feeling the launch delay in EU rn :(

on a plus note tho, did manage to pr-order for half off, so DLC/full game game price is more consumer friendly.... and allows for a brook super converter purchase

I just wish you didn't just select the characters you're used to, both this and the SF30 QL had you using the same characters repeatedly while some weren't shown at all...

pretty good year when we get two great easy for beginniers hard to master fighters in dbz and this. Hope the guys get a chance to get more into it. Lots of space since they dont really wanna finish god of war.

Honestly Im ok with both complexity and simplicity. I love power stone 2 because it is easy to pick up and the guy who plays it for 3 minutes knows all the buttons and combos that me who played it for years does yet what makes it different from pro play and basic play is that i know how to out think you while executing moves. I dont need to know x back circle square round circle into bla bla change stance. I can think his character is low range high attack ill keep my distance character use hit and run tacktics while keeping them at bay etc. No memorization just responding. That said auto combos is not what i mean by simplifying things. Auto combos just seem like a nice way of making casual players happy then telling them you can try more once they start gaining rank. Like allowing auto targeting in overwatch. It lets everyone feel like a contributor. That said no one gets too deep into stuff that comes off simple and is old so i will cry as powerstone gets low ranked on their list of fighters. I can see dive kick winning high thou.
