Quick Look: Choplifter HD

It's nice to hear more games start with a trumpet fanfare a la Rock of Ages.

GB should have some sort of Steam button where they get a referral credit.

Watched the QL, visited the Wiki, saw it was also on PC (yay), fired up steam and bought it. GB literally made the sale.

Even though Jeff seems a bit tepid it looked fun to me.

I am really surprised by Jeff's tepid reaction the game looks to be insanely faithful to its source but it doesn't look like some AMAZING must play game but seems like it hit all the points for a choplifter fan to get excited about.

This looks like a flash game with a 3d engine from 8 years ago. Not really interested.

This was the first game I saw/played on the C64 at a friend's house. Magic, sheer magic. I was well and truly hooked. I wanted a C64 só bad after playing that system for the better part of the afternoon. My mom still can tell the story vividly of me whining for a C64. I never got one...

You know what`s really annoying, throwing a message directly in front of where you need to aim. GREAT DECISION!

Yeah it has nothing to do with zombies being prob the easiest enemies to create cause their dumb and slow.

I liked the Choplifter games, but for some reason, I'm just not big on this. The whole background/foreground thing is kind of a pain in the ass, the sense of humour the game purports to have isn't that great, and I just found it kind of boring. And it seems like it was waaaay too easy to kill people who need to be picked up. Accidentally nudging my analog stick in the slightest usually led to one getting ground in the chopper blades.

I played the trial and I was disappointed. I played the hell out of Choplifter on the Commodore 64/128. This game is just...underwhelming. Maybe I should make my own Choplifter clone....hmmmm.....

First time the inclusion of Zombies has changed a purchasing decision for me.

I was liking the stuff at the start; really bought back some memories, but yeah maybe I'll get it in a steam sale or something.

I think the best part was when Jeff shot down the control tower, then nonchalantly landed for gas. But without the game acknowledging this absurdity, the good part is all in your imagination.

I thought these bland-looking polygon 2.5D games died back in 2008.. And 15 dollars? Heh..how about no?

Don't put zombies in your game especially if the original never had any.

So the pilot is voiced by Jon St. John and sometimes say "Damn I'm good" when you kill someone... also zombies. No thanks.

It's too bad they did that, as this looks like an otherwise competent (though overpriced) modernization of a simple, yet enjoyable old concept.

I would immediately buy it if it had the Airwolf theme and chopper though:)

I don't care for the gameplay but the its satirical tone and tongue-in-cheek nature were fun to watch. Yes, I also think zombie games have been down to undeath but in this context it's more of a parody. At least the game has that going for it.

Since when have zombies become so hated? Maybe it's because I don't play as many games as i used to but I don't have a problem with them.

The best thing about this game seems to be the "Macho Man" reference. Otherwise, it seems like a pretty bad game.

I really am being annoyed every  time when someone asks "is it challenging?". Take it off pussy and try to man up a little. Tension is created IF you can die.

Haha, your mom sounds like a real jerk, if she goes around telling the story of how you kept whining for a C64, and then she ends the story with "And I totally never bought one for him. What a sucker."

I like this game it's fun and simple enough to play. Zombies are now becoming so boring in video games, I am totally fed up fighting the undead, it's as bad as fighting the nazis, time for developers to come up with new monsters and enemies to fight. I feel dev's have run out of idea's for new enemies for gamers to fight.

Has a chance of being a good marketplace game.

I just think it's crazy that this was made by the guys who did The Bard's Tale and Hunted: The Demon's Forge. O_O
