I was DYING at British Columbo.

I expect great things.

Everything about this quick look is amazing! This and that awful pirate game they did a quick look of has been my favorite qls of the year. In short: The G-Beast is killing it!

I know they only joked about an Endurance Run of this. Keeping the long storied tradition of skipping content people want for videos of Jeff talking to himself while playing with Hot Wheels.

Sometimes it's really hard to judge whether they are having a good time playing the game or not. Call me on my lack of subtlety, but I wish they would be like "this game is good" or "this game isn't good", more. It LOOKS fun to me. It LOOKS like they are having a good time. But I can't tell if they are being sarcastic.

This game came out to iOS back in January. I think enough time has passed to do some kind of premium series with it.

So fucking spot on.

Beyond how funny this QL was, I'd suggest that, despite a couple of hammy performances, this is actually a pretty interesting mystery, and that's also why folks are desperate to see more! Some of the design choices clearly made due to budegetary concerns (use of empty locations etc.) actually contribute to the odd, atmospheric little world being created. But I'm a sucker for rural, faintly Pagan England.

We are both having a good time and also rolling our eyes at the flaws of the game. Those things are not incompatible.

It's so weird to see high quality FMV. Like, not acting or whatever, just like, high quality video.

I wonder where were all the jokes and joy and fun and happiness when you were playing the "other" FMV game. What happened to the serious and deep meaning of the FMV games, Austin? What happen to the "we don't want to spoil the game"... Alex?

I understand that the FMV games can be funny and made fun of but it's really strange to see your reactions when you watch this video and the one of "the other" FMV game.

I wonder if the main character was a woman would you three would've made the same comments while playing this game?

I would subscribe to premium just to watch you guys run through the whole thing. Seriously.

You seriously can't tell the difference in tone and objective between this janky-ass, hammed up 90s beautiful throwback nonsense and Her Story? I mean, subjective opinions and all, but there's a very good reason why they approached this game the way they did versus Her Story.

We don't joke about Endurance Runs here. That's serious shit.

@banicabolnica: First off, the tone in this and Her Story couldn't be much more different. Her Story is a single, evolving performance over the course of a few hours. This is a bunch of goofball character actors hamming it up every chance they get.

Additionally, Her Story is a game where you can accidentally spoil big chunks of its plot if you happen to bring up a particular video too early, due to its nonlinear structure. Here, we just showed the first 15 or so percent of a game, so not really the same deal?

I don't really know why you're trying to make a thing out of our approach to either game, since they're demonstrably different experiences outside of their use of FMV...

If her acting would've been as terrible/hammy as this guy's, probably. Phantasmagoria was riddled with fun commentary and you play as a woman through that whole game.

With that said, yeah, this is also waaaay different in tone when compared to Her Story.

I would not mind VinnyVania taking a small break and having "GiantBeast Investigations!!!" instead

If the woman was such a ham, then I imagine they would, yes. I assume you're making suggestions of some kind of agenda, but all you're really doing is highlighting your own.
