Switch home of 2D Indie Rogue-like

This looks really cool. Will definitely check it out when I get my Switch.

This came out on Steam last year and it became one of my favorite games ever. I've bought it for upwards of 30 people on Steam.

Just responding to some of the things from the quick look:

The platforms that are drawn under you are just an aesthetics representation for your double jump. The shopkeeper is in every world before the boss. Shooting the shopkeeper makes his prices go up. The price of recovering from a death is not always the same.

Game's got a cool style.

Had my eye on this for a while but it coming out on Switch made me finally decide to check it out. I adore it's style but I have absolutely no idea what a lot of the mechanics are, and I think the game doesn't do a super great job of communicating everything to you... but I also get the vibe that that's the whole idea? That's kinda typical of rogue-like's, so I've heard?

Enjoying it nonetheless.

Bought this on sale on Steam a while ago and couldn't get into it. It just doesn't communicate enough. Found myself constantly running out of ammo, didn't like the feel of it in general.

Was bummed because I do love the genre, and the style is incredible.

I like Gonner, it's got very good art and some sick jams. But I don't know, the gameplay feels kind of floaty and punishing in a way im not super into. Might be hard to tear myself away from Dead Cells to put enough time into this thing that I really get it

You know the backpack thing you start with?

It straight-up gives you a ammo refill on a fairly short cool-down when you hit B (or whatever the equivalent on the Steam version is) to activate it.

Too bad this game has no background art.

I didn't think I'd be hooked into it like I have, while that first boss is often a bit too difficult for me, it's essentially replaced puyo puyo tetris as my 15 minute train ride switch game.

This is probably my favourite Roguelite/like/whatever to come out since Enter the Gungeon. Really loving it so far.

I love the soundtrack to this game! I listen to it while working pretty often.

Dammit, I totally would've bought this for three bucks.

This looks like my kinda jam. Love the style.

I was really stoked to play this when it came out on Steam, but yeah it's pretty not great. It feels like it wants to flow as smoothly as Downwell, but it never gets there control-wise or design-wise. Lot of really nasty getting-hit-by-offscreen-unforseen-object shenanigans as well, which is NEVER good.

Downwell rules, though.

I think it's worth mentioning this game really rewards you for play FAST. You get more runes/money the better your combo will be and the more money you get. I play super super fast but that's me.

Thought to myself - "Seems cool, I wonder if I got that in a Humble Bundle?" - yup.

This seems a bit obtuse for its own good, but then again I probably have to spend more than 15 min with it. Another game I've wanted, then forgot about, then found out I already had a copy. Maybe will get it on the Switch if I get into it enough on PC. Cryptark is more my roguelike of choice right now.

The combo system is great, especially when you get to the point where the entire color palette shifts to the beat of the music.

The big problem with this game is that once you get to the second world they start having a lot of enemies not on your level, which gets really fucked since you can only shoot left and right by default. It made me really just stick a loadout with a head that lets you rotate in midair, allowing you to shoot diagonally, and a special item that explodes in a ring around you.

Ben did a good job presenting this game. I haven't always enjoyed his content but this was his best quick look to date.
