I mean, film studies have existed for a while, so I'm pretty sure I can find a critique of every film in existence from some perspective or other - does that mean that there are too many critiques and we should just give the whole thing up?

Based on the QL, this game has tired Chinese racial stereotypes, plays domestic violence for a joke, and seems to have very trite humor in general. If that's a problem for someone, or if it impacts their enjoyment of the game, then they should say so. If you feel that that kind of opinion has "oversaturated" the field and you don't care about it when you hear it, that would suggest that you don't actually care, and were just keeping up appearances. Which, you know, be true to yourself, I guess. But it does not mean that racist and sexist elements in our medium don't exist or matter.

Has Giant Bomb always been super sensitive?

No, but people grow up. (And so does their audience.)

I guess I just don't feel being offended by everything is growing up. I'm sure the people they're offended for are honored.

One thing I don't understand is why GB crew refuses to cover games if the developers are somehow connected with bigots (KC:D, HiT) but they cover games which are themselves sexist/homophobic.

Fun game, I enjoyed what I played of it. But sadly you can't enjoy it because it has flopping pixel (covered) boobs in it.

When they played it on OPF a week or two ago, I was just aside myself seeing Jason flip past the character Gal as fast as he could. I understand why they would not want to show anything remotely offensive to anyone in this day and age, but why even show the game at all then? A literal 3rd of that game is like that...

I believe GB can record what they want, but when they seemingly float around their practices like that it just feels bad.

Also yeah, why even give this game a QL then? I am glad they did as I wanted to see it, but... why even do it? Hell, lock this thread please. May my off-topicness be the tipping point.

@bloody_skirmish: I don't get how seeing/listening to something and finding it unfunny and shitty is "being offended by everything" or a negative thing. 95% of everything is, by definition, not the best. The ways they're not the best varies - this lacked a sense of humor and uninspiring game play. Expressing that is basically their job.

I'm pretty sure Frizzle is supposed to be Chris Brown, but I only get that from "I'm not used to fighting a dude" line that you guys were talking over.
