its a pretty neat idea ... well might as well get one for the neice and nephew and see what they think about it

They have the starter pack at costco for $25. I think I may have to get it for my son.

You know, this actually seems pretty cool. It's not for me, but it seems pretty cool.

an interesting concept to me, but i would probably not play it... now if it was a mech game like armored core with rpg elements added i could see myself playing it... im sure a COD like version would work too

It reminds me of a Lego game, seems pretty fun for what it is. The difference is that the Lego games have hundreds of playable characters by default.. Having to buy separate figures to unlock those would be crazy and that's exactly what they're trying to do here.

I also agree with Jeff's point, if they were pose-able/higher quality figures, they'd seem a lot more appealing. As it is, you're basically buying glorified unlock keys and I'd be willing to bet that most of the parents buying this for their kids don't understand that the figures aren't actually unlocking anything and there's no real reason for them to be bought.

I have to admit, as a kid, I would have eaten this up, but I can't see this as anything but another Acitivsion money making scam.

I hate the direction games are going in.

Also when did Activision get the rights to Spyro?

Yeah, this damn toy integration thats everywhere these days. I hear even Mass Effect 3 is going to require a set of Shepard figures. Typical.

As a kid I think I would have been into this. The game looks fun.

Oh god Spryo. What did they do you you? You used to be badass adorable, but now you're just fucking ugly.  
All this games makes me want to do is go back and play the old spyro games.  Such a huge cash cow, it's not even funny. At least with Pokemon, you can be content with just buying one game, per gen, and not have to buy a crap ton of additions in order to access things ALREADY ON THE DISC!

Damn. Now I kind of want this.
