Does the game just have a really terrible framerate and jankiness or is it the video?

It's the game. Surprising for a game that doesn't, uh, have much going on.

Jeez, that frame rate. I don't know how you played the game with that going on, and I don't get how you only mentioned it once like it's not a big deal.

I have not seen the end of this QL yet, but though I am enjoying the atmosphere, I like the game to actually go somewhere. I just saw the criticism of Indigo Prophecy and HR, but they sound like they tried to become something. I have HR, but I was turned off pretty quickly. I liked Dear Esther, which this reminds me of.

Too bad, it seems like an okay sort of athmospheric experience (and probably more fun that Doorways).

I've seen this at several expos, it seems kind of Myst-like and less horror really. When I saw it the framerate definitely wasn't as bad as here.

When you had to click that door opening mechanism each time I said "OH MY FUCKING GODDDD" aloud. That was my breaking point. Not the slow pace, not the walking back and forth, that fucking door.

The Irish was kinda cool until I saw they used it for every object. I don't ...get that.

Also whoever thought splashing ACHIEVEMENT UNLOCKED/SECRET AREA all over what seems a pretty immersive game needs a slap.

I was wondering the same thing but Patrick isn't mentioning the framerate so far... so I don't know. Nevermind I just read his comments I guess it just runs like poop.

When a game is this boring, is it worth Quick Looking? Seems like Patrick really had his hopes set on being spooked, with the lights off and whatnot.

Patrick, what did you think of Dear Esther (that is, if you played it)? This kind of reminds me of that, but with puzzles instead of heavy narration. I enjoyed DE because I was curious and wanted to know more about the story, but I'm wondering if this had any extra at the start to possibly motivate the player a bit more. Do you think DE is a fair comparison to this game?

I like the idea of the game. The visuals are neat, the slow methodical progression is sort of zen and myst-like. The execution on the idea may not be there though.

Seems like it's trying a bit too hard to be Dear Esther.......and not succeeding.

I like you Patrick, but I wish you would drop the camera when it's not spooking with scoops.. In my humble opinion there is no need for it in a quick look, your handsome colorless face and freaky eyes are a bit distracting.

Having a webcam feed in the corner annoys the shit out of me. For horror games and live shows and stuff, sure I get that, but why have it for just showing some gameplay?

I don't agree at all with facecam complaints; I feel like it helps distinguish these solo ventures and adds a little something flavor.

Don't tell me you thought those Arrow Pointing Down-early GB-era QLs of just Jeff, Ryan or Brad playing alone were exciting.

Amnesia may be a terrible game, but at least you could launch chairs out to the stratosphere.
