@buzz_clik: I was a little perturbed at that revelation myself. When I was younger this was my favourite food! I guess it's an English thing, though I'm Canadian so whatever.

putting meat in breading is most definitely an English thing. I did not know such things existed until in my mid to late twenties I ate at a British restaurant in Charlotte NC and learned that though some of the stereotypes of British food were correct it wasn't nearly as bad as I thought it would be.

For the game yeah this would be very frustrating and definitely not for me. If I had a group to play it with maybe but alone. No. I also love @austin_walker response to the educated people cast long shadows. I should go back and listen to the witness interview with the creator as I doubt I will every play that game. Man do we have completly opposite philosophies. My response was, um duh that is how it is and how it should be. Why does this need to be even said?

@smellylettuce: UK thing probably. I'm Scottish and trust me, more of these are consumed here than probably anywhere else. Love a sausage roll but they're one of those foods that suck if they're not perfect and are incredible when they're done right.

Figure I should talk about the game and not delicious delicacies, since most of you have that covered :)

This game is fantastic, and deviously difficult. I've gotten to the 3rd island of puzzles, and there is still no end in sight. The way it introduces new mechanics is really smart; it's never explicit, but it forces your hand through the way the levels are designed (yes, you do get to use the fork in its intended manner!).

It's probably more of a Texas thing, but here we have a breakfast sausage roll variant colloquially called "kolaches" after a Czech pastry. From the outside they look like elongated dinner rolls, but on the inside is some sort of sausage (usually small link sausage), often accompanied by cheese, and sometimes a variant that includes jalapenos. They're absolutely delicious, and this picture is making me want some at 12:45 in the afternoon.

Ah, I'm sorry, I thought you said 30 dollars?! Don't get me wrong, it looks like a very fun, interesting puzzle game but... THIRTY DOLLARS?!?!?!?

I was a little worried when I saw this pop up. A quick 30 minute blast of Stephen's Sausage Roll isn't enough time for most players to solve even one puzzle. It's easy to dismiss this at a quick glance because of the low-fi presentation and seemingly impossible puzzles, particularly given the asking price, and that is to do it a great injustice. When the game gets under your skin, and you're pushing the limits of what you thought was possible within each claustrophobic little grid, it's really like nothing else.

The lows of being stuck on something for an hour only make the high from getting it all the more fantastic. The GBeast guys did a good job representing that here. Great work.

This seems really hard. Like, past the point of difficulty I'm looking for in puzzle games. I'm sure the feeling of success is rewarding but it also seems infuriating. Appreciate the coverage.

Any U.K duders want to start a campaign where we send meat products in pastry to the U.S.A. There severe lack of said meaty pastry deliciousness fills me with steak & kidney sadness.

It looks like a fun game but by absolutely no measure does this appear to be worth 30 dollars. It's only slightly less than The Witness, and although it's challenging it looks extremely simply made.

On the other side of the coin, I give zero effs about The Witness but I'm having a hard time not buying this game right the goddamn now.

How about $15? I'll buy at $15. $30 is absurd.

Can confirm that sausage rolls are a thing in Australia too. In fact, they are a staple of the dirty servo food diet. Whenever my car needs to be refuelled, a dried out, barely-above-room-temperature sausage roll is sure to be in my future.

Disappointed this contains sausages being rolled but not seemingly any sausage rolls.

They were so close on that last one! They just had to undo a few more times to get back to where they messed up!

These comments led me to the being aware of sausage rolls and then making some. They are delicious. And, yes, best with catsup.

I know I'm a week and a half late to the QL, but the comments have successfully convinced me to go to the local bakery for a sausage roll. Thank you.

Vinny: "I burned the sausage."

Alex and Austin, completely wholeheartedly: "Oh no!"
