Ranking of Fighters 0003: Star Wars: Masters of Teräs Käsi & TMNT: Tournament Fighters

As others have mentioned, "Teräs Käsi" is Finnish for "Steel Hand" (though you'd probably write it as a compound word "Teräskäsi" if it was an actual Finnish term). The letter "Ä" in Finnish is pronounced like the "A" in English "man". I think Star Wars is going to be there for a long time. Awful game.

Fun series; Jeff's shoes are rad; anyone know what they are?

I have zero interest in fighting games. However, I eagerly await each of these episodes. Jeff and Jason are the new Drew and Dan. Who were the new Vinny and Patrick. There's so much good stuff on the site these days!

Can't wait to see where they rank King of Fighters on Ranking of Fighters. I expect no bias whatsoever.

The amount of science going on at the end was, frankly, a little disturbing.

Anyone know if they played the SNES version of Tournament Fighters?

TMNT tournament fighter is all right, but it's no Bishoujo Senshi Sailor Moon S - Jougai Rantou!? Shuyaku Soudatsusen

They should just do an episode where they cover all of the Bloody Roar and Primal Rage games and just populate the bottom of the list with all of those followed by Star Wars: Teriyaki or whatever.

oh shit, i played that TMNT game A LOT as a kid and totally forgot about it. i remember almost anything from it now.

I remember being so disappointed with Teräs Käsi as a kid. It was a bad game then, and it looks even worse now.

I only ever played the NES version of TMNT. I liked the game because I was such a huge Turtles fan, but even back then I n new it wasn't very good. The SNES version looks like so much more fun.

I can't wait for the next episode!

TMNT Tournament fighters was awesome!! Like Jason I have fond memories of playing this game as a kid as well. I think it holds up nicely - so much so that if you'll excuse me I'm going to go rock some rising thunders on my Snes emulator and hang out with Marilyn Monroe :)

Even as a Star Wars obsessed kid I could never like Masters of the Teras Kasi. TMNT Tournament Fighters looks pretty okay though.

Well, they DID already play Samurai Showdown, and it's a sure bet they'll cover at least one KoF and Street Fighter entry.

I'm also not a fighting game guy, but I played soooo muuuuch OMF2097 as a kid. That game was dope!

This is easily my favorite series they're doing now. I didn't play any of these, so it's really fun to watch these.

My hope is that they won't forget such Xbox classics as Tao Feng: Fist of the Lotus, Kabuki Warriors and Kakuto Chojin: Back Alley Brutal.

I still own my copy of Tournament Fighters for SNES. I'll admit, it certainly isn't the best fighting game, but I did have a lot of fun with it all the same.

@gyozilla: Glad I'm not the only one who remembers Endless Duel! There was always something funny about seeing the Epyon doing a dragon uppercut. Then again, I just thought the Epyon was the only good part of Wing...you know, for the three episodes it was there I guess.

With Teras Kasi out of the way, there's only two more games to go that I ever played. Bloody Roar 4, and Soul Caliber 2. Man I loved Teras Kasi when I was like 16.

Oh man, I thought the 0003 was the game number, not the episode number. Good, if we ever get to 9999, they could just play all the remaining games forever. No limits!

I'm enjoying these so much. So glad Jeff got Jason for fighting games.

Most things that are Star Wars are the worst things ever.

Man I would have never guessed it but Jeff and Jason have a great rapport with eachother. I really enjoy this series, I hope it goes on for quite a while.

If I remember correctly, the Turtles fighting games on the Genesis had a much more recognizable roster. Like basically everyone in the background of this one, if not more.

You'd think the Extended universe author who came up with Teräs Käsi would have ran it by an editor who could have pointed out that it's supposed to be a compound word.

I'm not a fan of fighting games. That said, I do want to see their thoughts (as people who seem to know their stuff) on One Must Fall 2097. It's the only fighting game I've ever really played.

I've never been into fighting games, but this is turning into some of my favorite content on GB - bravo.

I'm more interested in an episode featuring all the Midway N64 fighters. War Gods, Bio F.R.E.A.K.S., Mace: The Dark Age, etc.

TMNT Tournament Fighters was my jam back in the SNES days. Preferred it to Street Fighter II because I was young and a turtle nut... I have no other excuse. Donatello rocks in this game, bummed they didn't use his super, which conjures a magic Chinese style dragon that charges the opponent.

I remember owning the Gamepro with Star Wars Teras Kasi cover, and it was hyped up. lol

You need to stop playing these obscure games and go for one of the big hitting franchises, ie Shadow fighter for the amiga.

They're saving One Must Fall for the end, because it's gonna take the #1 slot.

Anyway, I was wondering why the Tournament Fighters characters were so lame. Then they mentioned different characters in the Genesis version, which is what I remember. Casey Jones, April, Krang, Ray f'n Fillet, and the bug guy. I feel this game would have been higher on the list if they played that version!

I haven't played any of these fighters so far so i can't get mad, and to a degree i trust these guy's opinions, but when they get to modern fighters things might get ugly. Tekken better be high on the list :P.

Tekken 3 is probably one of Jeff's favourite games, so you're gonna be alright. That's probably the high point of the series for him though.
