Funny that the longest game reviewed has the shortest audio/video review so far.

These are great! Love this style, especially with the variety of ways to consume it (podcast/video).

This video review format is better for Alex than when he used to do them live:

The gameplay overlay is nice but kind of hard to see since it's so small

Why is audio always so low? :(

@janman Green or Blue the screen behind Alex, key it out, and put the video footage on that layer. If it doesn't look goof filling up the background, then just lock it to one panel and have your talent on the left 1/3 with the video package on the right 3rd.

This is a much more convincing method for reviewing games.
I would say that when East meets West they should try and get a video feed, we are watching people who look like they are on the phone, no fixed focal point which can be a little disengaging.

Alex in particular spends the majority of the video with his eyes flying around the studio as he concentrates on his 'message'

still not convinced about this type of review. i mean i think if the gameplay was the majority instead of the guys it would be a little better but they aren't watching the footage together so i feel like something is lost because of that. idk but i realize reviews and quicklooks need to co-exist and not combine but this still needs work. its just like b-roll on a video podcast. im sure GB will tweak as they go so here's hoping for the future of this segment.

Whoa, I wasn't expecting this to be done as a cross-coast thing. Figured it'd just be Vinny/Dan/Abby talking with Alex instead, but I'm all for this. It's always nice to have a bit more interaction between the coasts, and I'm definitely enjoying this new discussion-based review format a lot more so far.

I do not understand why some people are not liking this review format. Their complaints seem to be that this is just a combination of conversations from the quick looks and podcasts but I am not seeing that at all. This is a tight focused in discussion on the game and doing it coast to coast makes it even better. These reviews have been great!

Love these video reviews, a unique and pretty efficient way to get your thoughts across. I much prefer the more debate style format and this answered a lot of questions I had about the game in the detail a textual review usually wouldn't go into.

It's a shame Alex was able to take most of a year to play Origins, but had to rush through playing Odyssey in a few weeks for review. I doubt it would have changed his opinion on the content/story, but it may have improved the tone of the conversation at least, which came off a bit as "game reviewer frustrated by having to play a long game real fast."

@kgkris: This is fantastic! I always love seeing old videos with these guys.

The Assassins Creed game numbering has reached Final Fantasy levels of unorganized and confusing.

@knapperr: This one is definitely a lot better because its shorter. But I understand why a lot of people don't need these: if you listen to the podcasts regularly you get a pretty good idea of how they feel about a game already.

I really do appreciate this form of review and think it works very well for giantbomb's podcast format. Thanks Alex!

@president_barackbar: I consume all of Giant Bomb's free and premium content, I assume that you do as well. I don't think there are as many people watching every single quick look and bombcast as everyone on this site thinks there is. I still find this review format worth watching/listening to if you are on the fence about a purchase or just want general knowledge of a game. I agree the podcasts give you a good idea of how they feel, but I appreciate them getting into more depth about a single game. I think this innovation is important.
