Giant Devcast: Sorry We Changed Things :(

Real nice, I love inside baseball podcasts. And If you ever find time for it Chapter Marks (https://auphonic.com/blog/2013/07/03/chapter-marks-and-enhanced-podcasts/) would be great. Id love to find ever segment somebody talk about a specific topic.

This is rad, I hope we get more dev insights going forward! I'm still liking the new site a lot as a whole, although some of my minor concerns from the beta still remain: I wish the primary slot on the home page was a little smaller so we could see more than one thing without scrolling down the page; I wish there was a quick-access list of at least all the current shows I could access from the home page rather than going through two pages to get to the one I want; and (perhaps a longer-term goal) it'd be cool if users could customise the order of the homepage blocks (personally I'd like latest and continue watching right up top, maybe even before the upcoming section). That last one is probably a little tougher to implement, though. New logo is great, too! Change is scary but I'm all in favour of the new, more-imminent bomb. EDIT: Oh, another thing - do comments no longer support line breaks? That seems weird to me.

Have to say I really like the watchlist feature - something I never knew I wanted out of GB.

whoop.. nice, hopefully they discuss feature removal settings. The continue watching feature doesn't apply to me really since i download all videos due to my internet connection.

I appreciate the video/podcast organization but as a Desktop PC user, everything looks way too large. Like a mobile version of a site poorly designed for desktop.

This is dope. As a dev myself, I would absolutely listen to more of these.

ok guys, as a software engineer who sits in front of a computer screen all day, this dark theme is killing my eyes... i just cannot visit this website as much as i would like if there no light theme.

This is really interesting. Always like hearing how other teams do things! Looking forward to more.

Where do you submit bugs for the new site again? Chromecast feature is cool but broken as all hell. Sound muted on chromecast, audio keeps playing in web browser. I appreciate the feature but it is not working, thanks!

As a fellow web developer, I am incredibly on board with an ongoing devcast discussing the tech side of Giant Bomb. Love it!

Oh Hell yes I'm way into the idea of a behind the scenes from the developers podcast talking about the challenges in running a site like this.

I MIGHT BE A LITTLE BIASED as a web dev myself, but hey that's WHY it appeals to me and my niche haha

As a cloud/automation engineer I'm interested to hear what your development/deployment workflow is. I almost certain that you can't talk about it but it would also be cool to hear if you have a cloud presence at all because when you talk about needing to get physical hardware resources makes me cringe.

What's worse (better?) is hearing about you getting provisioned resources that don't match the spec that you needed (os/php versions). Are you involved at all in the provisioning and configuration management of the physical/virtual resources that you use?

I think it would be unfair to say that it was unchanged but, then again, I already posted about the navigation bar being busted for iOS 10.3.3 and nothing changed between then and now so...

It's definitely a bit concerning to hear one thing and then see another. I don't feel the "beta ass beta" comment would be made without thinking that to be the case, so I'm curious as to who made the call to push it as the official site. Would be great to hear some clarity as to why it has been pushed through so quickly.

EDIT: As the above sounds a bit too negative, just wanted to balance it out by saying that, conceptually, I do like the way the site looks. I have my issues, but this is an ongoing process and it's a good launching pad.

What a fantastic addition to the site this is! Would love to hear more about your infrastructure set-up, in particular database stuff as that's how I pay my bills.
