The Binding of Patrick: 03/13/2014

A new level of Patrick-binding has been achieved. There's been a real impressive skill incline so far, pretty neat to watch.

Extra points for the silhouette of Slim Pickens as Major Kong ridin' that bomb.

I hope Patrick grabs Poly / Mutant Spider / Inner Eye / Max's Head / Almost Any Damage Item and Brimstone at some point so he can realize how goddamn good Brimstone is. Doesn't give it enough credit, it's one of the top shot types for a reason.

That said, shame about losing Fetus bombs last time. :(

Also, after watching it Pat, Unicorn does do damage to he heart, it was just being weird and glitchy because you came at her from the bottom.

I will say that when I did that challenge I was getting super lucky with the health upgrades, I finished with ten hearts, but that's all I was getting.

If I gamble enough, maybe I can get Lord Gamblor's cool boots for myself!

I'm similarly not interested by the people who are always jonesing for Patrick to find the Habit whenever he has a good spacebar item. Yeah, the Habit makes a bunch of items OP and largely trivializes the game. I get it. But it gets kinda boring to watch if his run is basically unfailable.

I just watch this occasionally, but seriously, "I can unicorn the devil beggar" is a pretty great statement.

Oh, not questioning things being boring when you get the same run, item for item. It was more how he was going off on it at the end.

I definitely restart runs if they're looking to shape up the exact same as previous successful one unless I'm doing races or speed runs. Makes the charm last.

Can't believe how addicted I've gotten to this feature. Keep it up, Patrick. Hope you've got a follow up for this, too, when you're done with this game.

Not a fan of Brimstone - I'm more of a fan of spamming projectiles, not betting everything on a clean hit. Also, it technically takes longer because, unless you have impeccable timing, you'll always spend just a bit longer than necessary to use it, or not long enough and cancel out of it.

Today I gave the 7 Years Bad Luck challenge a shot and seemed to have a very lucky run! I got Mom's Contact, which I don't think Patrick has gotten (or even unlocked?) yet. That item makes things so much easier!

I don't recommend Patrick do that particular challenge for this feature since it ends at Mom. It doesn't let you go to Mom's Heart.
