TEAM ALEX FUCK THE OLDS

edit: to clarify, we should be nice to / take care of old people who need it, because that’s what I’d want society to do for me too, but i also don’t expect to be treated like some oracle once I hit 65.

Kirby kissing started on "Kirby Super Star" co-op mode I think ( if not earlier, but point is, it's been there for a while). It not a food thing specifically, just a kiss( or maybe a hug, like some other folks mentioned)

Never think about Nintendo things from an adult lens too much. It will ruin them all for you.

Also, about flesh balls and RealDoll, I'd direct folks to a game called "Saya No Uta".

I though Dan had played Kirby Super Star because of the 8-games-in-1 thing, but maybe I'm thinking about someone else?

Kirby is awesome and you should all do some co-op of the Wii one.

Also I think they've made out/fed each other like a mother bird since Kirby Super Star.

Also also: If you don't wanna be spoiled on the ending og Inside, maybe skip forward half an hour when they start talking about it.

ugh- hearing that the key art from far cry 5 outwardly appears to be form without substance- that gets under my skin in a way i wasn't expecting.

the USA is deep in the throes of a multi-tier identity crisis. to market a product that fronts as engaging with that material- and then casually discard it as merely tablesetting for your goofy sandbox- is perhaps the most cynical marketing ploy i've seen in awhile.

there's nothing wrong with goofy far cry- but riffing on a pretty serious issue without having anything meaningful to say is depressingly callous.

That set of million dollar challenges was the easiest one of those proposed to date. You may not have the most fun doing it after a while but that every Final Fantasy one is just easy money.

I don't think it'll be feasible to do all the Final Fantasy games within 30 days. If you play 20 hours every day you'll have 600 hours of gametime. Using the main story average from hltb.com all main line Final Fantasy games comes out to 545 hours.

Skip cutscenes and just minimal grind for main story bosses and you will chew through those games no problem.

The Kirby characters hug, and it's obvious. Their heads are always off center. So unless people regularly tongue fuck their partner's ear--which in case they are obviously still not kissing--then it is a hug.

I think the reason Dan doesn't connect with Kirby games is because they aren't really focused on super solid platforming. To me they mostly exist to be a refreshing breeze. Kirby is actually my favorite Nintendo franchise because of this.

Especially recently I've found myself being drawn to games that just let me blow of steam and relax. I still like challenging stuff in moderation, but sometimes I just need the video game equivalent of a warm hug. Which is exactly what Kirby is for me.

With that said I played the demo for the Switch one and also came away from it pretty underwhelmed. It just doesn't feel like it does anything remarkable to the Kirby formula other than adding 3 extra party members which I didn't think felt fun or cool or whatever. Maybe things pick up in the full version, but I don't know... It just didn't stand out in any way for me.

My favorite Kirby games are:

Epic Yarn for it's very obvious embrace of my earlier sentiment of just being terminally pleasant and incredibly inventive in its presentation.

Triple Deluxe since I feel like the 3DS iterations were the most refined in their controls and this one also does some cool stuff to change up the Kirby game formula with the Super Nova power/sections. By the end of this game it goes straight up Dragon Ball with how those extreme sucking powers play out.

and finally Planet Robobot for the same solid controls as Triple Deluxe, but the mechanical aesthetic is a welcome change to typical Kirby visuals. Kirby mech (!!!). As well as having the robotic overhaul of a lot of the familiar bosses causing some really cool new fights instead of just retreading the same old same old like Star Allies seemed to do in the demo. Also the last hour of this game is INSANE; Kirby turns the Kirby mech suit into a gigantic anime space ship and fights a moon that turns into a giant face and uses lasers, giant numbers, and different household objects the size of astral objects to attack you. I feel like it does not get talked about enough.

"Age is not an accomplishment, and youth is not a sin." -- Robert A. Heinlein, "Methuselah's Children"

Old people who think they have all the answers are, I suspect, just as annoying to young people as young people who think they have all the answers are to old people. These two sides have lived in peace for millennia...

We should care for and respect the elderly, not because they are elderly, but because they are PEOPLE.

I babysat my almost 4 year old nephew last weekend and he sat on my lap for an hour and half and watched me play Into the Breach solely because I said to him "This game has robots. You love robots."

Edit: He was also pretty into the CEOs.

Ctrl+G to change seats? How come no game ever has a sensible keybind for changing seats in vehicles? It's always Ctrl+G or PgUp/PgDn or something completely out of the way like that.

@rubbad: That really wasn't the takeaway I had. I mean, I think Alex pretty succinctly broke down his problem with the assumption that all old people are wise or even worthy of respect. I took most of what they said as "old people are people, some are good, some suck and all of this is painted in our usual helping of goofing off."
