I've found analog stick swinging to be the least bad option in golf games. This looks really promising.

I'm genuinely interested in playing this on my PC. As a fan of the Tiger Woods games, this looks similar but more simulation like; which is great.

Could be good but I'm with Jeff i don't care for the analog stick control.

Who says you can't? Just because Drew was using a controller doesn't mean you have to!

I'd love to see a some really cool courses, look like this could get a bit ridiculous and therefore fun.

Jeff's problem with using the analog sticks for the lack of precision and not consistently being able to hit the middle is the same reason I didn't really gel with the Skate games.

I have never felt the desire to play a golf game before. For whatever reason, I really want to play this game. No EA bullshit, no whacky mario bullshit, just straight up golf.

Course editor looks cool.

Nice! This game looks boring enough to simulate the real golf experience. I like it. The announcer or caddy or whatever also seems slightly disinterested and depressive...Awesome!

Can this game please come out the same day as Driveclub?

When that auto-generated course just happened I was legit impressed.

As a Canadian who golfs, I can confirm that caddie is 150% Canadian. I was waiting for the "Oh yeah, here we go, bud. Grip it n' rip it, eh?".

Man this makes me want to play a Hot Shots Golf game. PS4 needs one!

The course creator is promising but for me I really want to make local courses that I play on. Current tools don't really allow that to happen.

Not sure why Drew didn't mention it or try it, but this apparently has mouse swing support too. Probably more accurate.

Looks cool though, especially the course editor.

I am going to be super bummed when they replace the Caddy voice over with something more natural. I feel like that offers this game a lot of personality.

Drew - Putting does not need to be a smooth motion, pull the putter back and just get it to where you want, you can move it back and forth in the back swing (like his back toe is about a 15ft putt) then go straight forward once you stopped the putter in that spot in the back swing (you can sit there for a year then go forward it will be the same distance). You did start judging wind, height, loft, rough % and shot distance well in the QL! BUT YOU need to CHIP the ball around the green, the distance at the top is carry distance in the air, the clubs with less loft (3-iron thru 9-iton) will put more roll on the ball. More lofted clubs (wedges) will pop up higher land and not roll as far, you can also add more or less loft to the chip with the left stick modifier. One more thing, the greens were on easy for the courses you looked at but as you maybe noticed they really do break fast. When compared to the new Mario golf game on 3DS (which I beat in the 1st day, well at least the 3 courses you get when you buy the game, NINTENDO!!!!) I will not buy the additional courses for that game! THE GOLF CLUB HAS UNLIMITED GOLF COURSES AND I CAN RE CREATE THE ONES I PLAY!!

Jeff - This game has small sweet spots because it is no child's GAME! BOP Mario GOLF BOP TIGER WOODS! You can get bigger sweet spots with easier lies and adding no spin to the ball. Plus this game does not take tempo into affect in any swing, so you can hold the top of the swing and then go forward STRAIGHT to achieve 100% (Just use the Left trigger modifier to judge carry and take all the other factors into play). LASTLY, they should not add stupid "CHEAT LINES or LANDING CIRCLES", BOP PUT PREVIEW shit, BOP Landing lines and circles, BOP LINE TRAILS OF where the ball will go! THAT SHIT NOT REAL AND IS FAKE GIMMICKY BS, I DON'T WANT ANY OF THAT IN THIS GAME! There are steam forums begging them not to add that exact stuff. Plus you can turn off more stuff like be able to see where your shot will land camera and even the flyover (But that's just nuts)! I turn off the option, which is on by default, to auto select clubs and distances for you. So, it starts me with a driver or putter on every shot, the rest is up to me to actually play the real factors and elements that effect golf and with a small sweet spot you have to stay focused on EVERY SHOT.

I really hope that caddy voice stays, because this may be the only real golf game I ever buy. That course editor will make for some craziness when it gets released for real, and I want to see just how far people go.

Excited for a new golf game. Had a pretty good run with Tiger Woods until late. One tip I have with games like this that depend on a straight swing with the left stick, keep your eye on your controller when you swing. It really helps to actually see how straight your swing is. The rhythm of the swing is easy to learn to where you don't really need to look at the screen while swinging.

@beachthunder: Video games taught me as a boy that Jack Nicklaus is a golfer and not the same person as Jack Nicholson.

Definitely has promise. Reminds me a bit of the old Links series. Nice to see a golf game with a course designer again. It'd be nice if they added configurable windows as that was one of my favorite things about Links. I'd have the hole map up to track shots, the green cam and the follow camera boxes. I do like what I see so hopefully they continue to develop it.

Best Golf Game: Pangya. All the time, every time.

After seeing the quick look and UPF I kinda of want to buy this, if it ever comes out of early access. It's been too long since I played a decent golf game, and I never cared for the Tiger Woods games.

The mouse control in this game was pretty rough when I first tried it. Much more sensitive to left / right pulls, and also a lot harder to do a full consistent swing. I couldn't find a sensitivity that made it work and feel good. Not sure if they've tweaked that aspect since launch.

Dont play golf or watch it but man when this hits ps4 im grabbing it, looks like a ton of fun.

Its more that, for Americans, its pretty easy for us to tell you are Canadian because there are some sounds that Canadians just make differently than Americans do. There's a subtle inflection on some words that make it pretty easy to pick out Canadians.

Drew's golfer looks like a brunette Daniel Craig. I can't be the only one seeing this.

And now I wonder what Daniel Craig's golf game is like. He'd probably make golfing look cool.
