I'm with Jason, Fazoli's is amazing! I'd go just to eat a handful of the unlimited bread sticks and some Lasagna. I'm so hyped they're opening one in my town soon.

Fazoli's is pretty good, but the market has spoken and most of them have closed.

I live across the street from the empty shell of a Fazoli's and it makes me sad every time I see it because I'm not back there eating unlimited bread sticks

I had also not heard of chicken parm until Jeff. I'm from England. It was invented in America so I guess that's why?

Chicken parm is not Italian. Stop calling American cuisine Italian. Nobody in the world has heard of chicken parm because no Italian restaurant outside the US serves it. Don't get me wrong, It's good food, but don't call it Italian.

For some reason when I got a Wii when I was 8 NES Pinball and Sonic Spin all were the two games my dad bought on the Virtual Console so used to play those a lot.

@chen_96: Relax. Chicken parm originated from Italian immigrants in New York over 100 years ago. It's Italian-American. And there are certainly dishes in Italy that are very similar that chicken parm could be considered a riff on.

What’s with the outrage at pesto with chicken? I don’t eat meat anymore, but pesto with chicken is such a no brainer.

I've recently gained an appreciation for American bastardization of authentic cuisines that I used to just scoff at. Asian-American and Italian-American food, especially, created by immigrants who either had to make do with limited ingredients and access and money or to fit a wildly different palate in a new place (or both) have created some really now-iconic and very good dishes that deserve some love and respect for what they are. Doesn't mean they're authentic by any means, of course. But doesn't mean they're not real either. Authenticity adapted.

Also important: egg rolls and chicken parm - pretty good food, it turns out.

You are correct, but I feel you could have worded that nicer. Makes you come across a bit like a food snob, you don't want to be a food snob.

For Jess' encoding trouble.. make sure she's using the GPU to encode aka NVIDIA NVENC (new) in OBS aaaaand limit the games' frame rate by using VSYNC so the game doesn't spend all the computers resources.

I have to back Jason up on this. Fazoli's was good. The spot I used to go to in Madison closed awhile ago.

I have never heard of Chicken parm in my life before hearing it from Vinny/Jeff B. I live in the pacific northwest.

Among my recurring dream motifs is my attempting to shoot a basketball, or throw a punch in a fight, and I just cannot put more than a toddler's power into it. I might as well be shooting a medicine ball, or be throwing punches with literal spaghetti noodles for arms.

I was reminded of this nearly every time Jan took a shot in that awful card-based minigolf game. Just the most powerless, impotent, unsatisfying game experience imaginable.

Y’all debating origins of Chicken Parm should listen to Jonathan Gold’s essay on authenticity. Food is a product of the environment, from a macro level - boiled down to the chefs themselves. https://youtu.be/jr7Si1s777g

Bakalar trying to come up with something that bothers him as much as pesto on a chicken parm and going "it's like mayo on a burger!" is really funny

Jan.... Original Joe's in downtown SJ has a great parm. Service can be a bit iffy on a busy night but it's been the best for me.

So, what I'm hearing is that I'm sleeping on my neighborhood Fazoli's. I only went there once shortly after moving here, and despite vowing to frequent it afterward, I never did. I should get back on that.
