So disappointed. Wc3 is a legendary game and a huge part of my childhood after I met my two best friends on there that I still know. I was so excited for this. Blizzard have fallen so far.

The whole "anything you make is owned by us" thing is weird to me, Blizzard don't want to potentially lose another Dota, ok, but making this aggressive change to persude people to use other engines is better how?
Just leave people to their own passions without restrictions, and if they make something magical all you need to do is invite them into Blizzard and adopt the project, pay for it if necessary but i'm sure a fan of the company would love to work there (maybe not these days, but that's another topic).

The remorseless team killing was so fucked up.

Hahaha holy shit. The 'cutscene' where Mal'Ganis gets stabbed then just slides up and off the screen, followed by a sharp cut to a black screen with some text about Arthas on it. Wowee wow wow.

Blizzard really released it in this state? I admit I'm about a decade disconnected from any of their games, but what the fuck happened to Blizzard? They were Blizzard once.

I'm mostly baffled that Blizzard released this in its current state. They used to cancel entire games that were near-completion simply because they weren't up to their standard. I'm not a Warcraft 3 purist, but I'm mostly struck by what this release says about the company. Doing a "quiet release" of a project they didn't have confidence in was never their thing.

I watched some more of this game (The core game here is fantastic, and it's a nice nostalgic feeling to see people play some 2v2's) and there are more signs of sloppiness to be found.

For each player leaving an online game , for some reason it says 'blizzard left the game' as well. Maybe that's some workaround to provide replays? Having each player go in with a blizzard observer?

Also, the victory screen pops up too low on the screen, like they didn't account for modern resolutions. In the stat screen, the heroes tab don't fit properly and the numbers are not alligned properly as if you're looking at a messy excel file or something.

I also feel like either the new models or the lighting or something has made it harder to quickly see spot the heroes in between the normal units. Especially a small hero like Mountain King doesn't stand out at all. Maybe this was always the case , but it also feels like there are some huge size differences between units. Like the water elemental is huge compared to Far Seer's wolves. The Tauren Chieftain is like 4x as big as a mountain king.

But i've heard that next week the first big update is planned, so hopefully some things will be restored and improved. A guy that works with blizzard quite a bit & played War3 competitively said he had recommended them several times that having small tabs that show your control groups on screen in a similar way like Starcraft would be very welcome and that a timer would help a bunch for people trying to improve. Would be nice to see small improvements like that.

It would be grand if Blizzard started respecting their staff, their fans, and their IPs like they once did.
