Lockdown 2020: We Be Drummin'! Guitar Hero: Van Halen/Smash Hits Style!

After seeing a lot of Rock Band, I really appreciate it’s UI

Thanks to daylight savings kicking in, I can actually watch most of this live, but I annoyingly still missed one of the best songs in the setlist, which was Lay Down by Priestess (don't @ me).

Also, to whomever posted that Duality/Jump mashup in chat, it's a little bit scary how well those two songs go together.

Think I said this the last time Guitar Hero was on WBD but the band animations are way better and feel more natural to the songs and what actual live music looks like than RB imo. That said RB's UI is far superior.

Did Alex not play Hot for Teacher? That’s literally the best drumming in a Van Halen song and that’s saying a lot as AVH rules

This has been a killer list of songs! Some had some "no's" but regardless had a bunch had a lot of good energy!

How do you activate Star Power on these games? It's not like Rock Band.

Well played on Atomic Punk that I like a lot. It's almost like a predecessor to anthem metal songs like "The Trooper". Runnin' with the Devil is pretty great too.

@alex do you think it's possible to map the two controller inputs in Double Kick Heroes to one or several drums in your drumkit?

The game is on Game Pass now and it would be fun to watch if it could work. Plus I think it supports user songs but that's probably a whole licensing mess.

Alex mentioned that Clash dlc didn't sell well. I wonder what were some of the dlc packs that did gangbusters?

I was way into Guitar Hero for quite a few years, one of those weirdos who could make it through expert Through the Fire and Flames. I agree that Van Halen and Smash Hits were the weakest entries. Van Halen had a handful of strong tracks, but that's about it. For pure shred-factor, I think Metallica and that Warriors of Rock game were really solid.
