at roughly 6:20 in the video. The Switch dock is like any USB-C dock for a computer and allows for native wired in connection to the switch itself. It does not do wired to the dock then wireless after .

I fully endorse Jan playing through some Metroid games. Zero Mission into Samus Returns into Super Metroid into Fusion and then Dread to finish it off. I know this is far too ambitous of an idea, but Jantroid would be a nice companion to Blue Bombing and VinnyVania

@minusthepunk: Unless he's talking about wired to the switch, but still having the wireless controller. In which case, how is the latency of Pro Controllers in wired mode?

I guess i need to watch the video to see to what extent the game and the switch were touched and/or played.

Agreed. I recommend the remakes of 1 (for the GBA) and 2 (for the 3DS) which are easy to emulate, just like 3 (SNES) and 4 (GBA). It would be a lot of fun.

So I guess someone got their hand slapped for posting the first version of this video with way more gameplay footage? I downloaded the first video that is now taken down and it's twice as long with a lot of gameplay.

@dan_citi: You can play every Metroid including the remakes all between a Wii U and 3DS.

Yeah, this was a weird comment. You don't go through wifi at any point if you have your Switch tied to a USB dongle (or to this new dock).

That said, I also wish they had a new wifi antenna on this. The Switch has really terrible wireless connectivity, which then leads to the controllers behaving erratically depending on where you place the console and wifi online gameplay just straight up not working right.

I didn't watch all of the original video the first time and meant to come back and finish it, but this new version seems pretty different.

@janman Anywho, you can buy the new dock by itself. Though, you'll have to do it via Nintendo's online store. Well... according to IGN that is what is happening. When, don't know, but that is what they are reporting.

@zor: There's no apparent reason to buy the new dock, though (unless you want another dock). You gain an ethernet jack but lose a USB port, so you might as well just buy an ethernet adapter.

Oh man, if they green screened themselves together in a park that would have been so much better.

I don't know why, maybe it's the 2D aspect of it, but I have a hard time seeing Metroid Dread as a $60 game. It's looks to be of a similar quality as an XBLA from 10 or 12 years ago, like Shadow Complex or something. I know that sounds harsh, but I don't mean it to be. It looks fun, but just really simple. Hopefully there's more depth and replayability than what they've shown so far.

Jan, I'm confused, we see you adjusting the brightness early in the video, do we not?

I can only play docked so I wont be upgrading, but damn that white switch looks sharp.
