I'm with Brad on that the platforming doesn't seem stellar, but the overworld stuff is really neat. I might pick this up just for that.

Maybe with the resurgence in platformers blizzard will make blackthorne 2, we need more platformers where you have a shotgun imho.

Being able to fight the boss from the get go isnt a Breath of the Wild thing. That concept is over 20 years old considering Chrono Trigger exists

While I catch your drift, what Chrono Trigger is doing isn't really the same. Especially since in that case it is designed for New Game Plus as well as alternate endings.

Those ukulele sound effects at the end of levels are very Rayman.

This game looks alright. I wish there wasn't so much emphasis on collectibles, though. I play games like this for the sheer joy of platforming challenges, not puzzles and hidden objects. I get that they are a big part of the genre in many similar games, but to me they just slow everything down. I prefer the Meat Boy / Celeste approach.

Brads like a child in that he always take stuff at immediate face value and is always surprised when something is more than it originally shows lol. Brads awesome. One of these days he'll remember that games perform/look better on pc as well, one of these days.....

That aside the game looks way more fun and focused than the original, first one got tedious quickly with cluttered and sometimes overly large and wondering level design and whatnot.

I'm into the look of this. The first one was reminiscent of Banjo Kazooie, and this one reminds me of Donkey Kong Country. I'm into it.

This looks a bit more like DKC than the original Y-L looked like Banjoo-Kazooie. I always thought the original looked super bland and really missed the mark it was going for, but this feels way less offensive.

Could not agree more. That's one of the reasons why I didn't like Super Mario 3D Land/World as much as other Mario games. A lot of the challenge was hidden behind collecting the 3 Star Coins, when I wished the challenge was the actual platforming itself.

Also, the reason I found your comment because I was hoping someone else recognized the Rayman similarities, especially in regards to the ukulele cues.
