But has anybody managed to figure out a way to make recycling work without specializing in trade or electronics? even selling to the global market I still have a massive surplus, something like 30000 uncollected recycling bins, because my storage and reclamation is always full.

maxed out trade depot can't get rid of it enough, I've just started a trade port and will try that, but it's slowly filling as well and to get to that point you need around a million dollar investment.
