So I got a beta code in my Killzone 3 box, and now that the 29th has finally rolled around I can redeem this darned beta code. First things first, I download the beta--painless enough--then comes the completely separate install process, what with the PS3 being the PS3 and all--a little annoying, but not too bad--then a dumb, difficult to skip series of slides on the proper precautions to take when using the PS Move (something I don't even own, yet it doesn't detect that and jams it down my throat anyway). Next comes a 37MB update. Fine, that's expected. But finally, when I'm in the game and I see some generic SEAL dude's face, I get slammed with a gig and a half of updates, which I'm downloading at this precise moment. And if track records mean anything, it'll probably have a lengthy, independent install process as well. So, way to go PSN, for showing yet again that your user experience is stuck in the past and not at all on par with modern expectations.
So there's my little rant. Bring the hate if you insist.
