ok, so Amazon has all three of these games as a package for $10. I have already played both Bioshock games on the 360 but am interested in Spec-Ops: The Line.

So, my question is if Spec-Ops is really worth $10 or not. It looks interesting, but I know it got mixed reviews. This seems like a pretty good price so let me know duders!

10 bucks is almost always worth it for any borderline game.

Absolutely, Spec Ops is good for at least two playthroughs (and after the first: listen to the Gamespot podcast feat Jeff where they talk to the lead writer about it. It will BLOW YOUR MIIIIIIIIND).

I just bought it! Been hearing about how good the story is, excited to check it out. I've only beaten the first Bioshock also, so I'll probably take a look at Bioshock 2 as well.

I paid for all of those full price when they came out and I thought it was more than worth it. So yes, you should buy.

I just finished Spec Ops about a week ago and really enjoyed it. Definitely one of the most interesting games I've played.

Hmm, this would've been awesome before PS+ gave away Bioshock 2 for free. Still, Spec Ops is worth it.

Don't buy from Amazon, they are tax dodgers and kill small businesses.

But that is a bargain for 1 Amazing, 1 excellent and 1 interesting game. Every one who likes computer games should play Bioshock.

Hmmm... buy this now or wait to see if I can get Spec Ops alone for a little cheaper during the Steam Sale... I'm torn.

Considering you've played the Bioshock games already, I wouldn't say that's a great price to be paying just to experience Spec Ops. It's €20 for me on Steam which means it's probably $20 on US Steam, right...? If it does get discounted in the upcoming Steam Winter Sale, it's likely to be for more than 50% considering the game's age.

EDIT: missed the post where you said you got it already OP.

For anyone else considering the same deal, I'll say that I got Spec Ops for €15 and regretted the buy once I had completed it. I thought the subject matter was bravely selected but amateurishly handled, while there was absolutely nothing there in the gameplay for me. However for $10, if you have a burning curiosity about the story it's still not exactly a massive gamble, considering some people love it to the sky. My own opinion is that I can't possibly recommend it. Bioshock is a great game though, thickly atmospheric and well written.

yea, Amazon has got some great bundles right now. Would totally buy this if I hadn't bought the THQ Humble Bundle: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00A3F5S0O/

That's fucking awesome but I already own three of those games on PC and one of them on Xbox...

I bought it for about $10 bucks a little earlier in the year (Spec Ops that is) and have been thoroughly surprised by how much I have enjoyed it. I'm 2 chapters from the end (hope to actually finish it today/tomorrow) but it has definitely been worth it for me. A great surprise for this year.

You should definitely buy both of them !

Spec Ops: The Line is what Apocalypse Now is to movies. People will start to recognize this in a few years. Sadly the industry doesn't want to provide us with stories like this, because it's an unpatriotic way of looking at the horrors of war.

Bioshock is a no brainer, the game is fucking brilliant.

Spec ops is worth 20 bucks folks, it's a competent shooter with interesting hotel lobby and skyscraper environments and some genuinely shocking moments.

Yes, they are all really good games.
For Bioshock 2, may I recommend you get Minerva's Den after you finish it. That DLC is worth the 10 bucks on admission alone.

I'm guessing that's sarcasm? Apologies if not.

I suppose I am priveleged living in London and being able to go to small independents to buy games but it's not even that, there are lots of other online retailers which I am sure make an proper contribution to the taxes which have paid for the education, transport, healthcare etc etc of their workers

Part of the reason Amazon are able to offer such huge discounts is that they pay hardly any tax at least in my country and this gives them an unfair competitive edge over more ethical retailers.

    Check out http://www.ethicalconsumer.org/commentanalysis/corporatewatch/isittimetoboycottamazon.aspx and http://www.guardian.co.uk/technology/2012/apr/04/amazon-british-operation-corporation-tax

I realise I have been the guy who derails an innocent thread about games with politics and for that I am sorry ;).

I bought it a couple weeks ago and just started it this morning. I always heard great things about the story and atmosphere. When it comes to single player shooters, atmosphere is one of the very most important aspects of them.

But regardless of Spec Ops, Bioshock 1 is one of the best games of this generation. It'll be worth it just to have Bioshock in your library on PC!!
