A slight offtopic, but I thought it couldn't hurt to post it here.

It's rarely mentioned in gamer communities, but creators of S.T.A.L.K.E.R. video game were heavily inspired by a novel "Roadside Picnic" by russian novelists Arkady and Boris Strugatsky. The Zone, the anomalies, the artefacts, the very term "Stalker" were adapted directly from a book, so in a way, they were the creators of this universe. Unfortunately, today the last of the brothers died due to heart problems at St. Petersburg hospital.

To anyone who hasn't read a book yet, I strongly recommend it. It's not very long, you'd probably be done with it in a couple of evenings, and it's available in a very decent english translation.

Once again, sorry if it's an offtopic, just thought you might want to know.
