Battlefront 2- One Step Forward, Two Steps Back

When I first heard that Battlefront II was going to be released. When I heard it had freakin' SPACE BATTLES I went INSANE.

Now that I've played it long enough... it's not that great.

Sure, the stamina is a great addition, and that player profile career status is also very helpful, and the graphics are more or less the same. Battlefront II isn't really what one would expect it to be.

Let me tell you about the original battlefront: It's better in terms of playing one battle. I'm not sure if I'm making sense, but the battles on BF were very cool. You could play one and that was awesome, the troops aligned against each other, resemble some sort of early European combat situation, where two large armies fought facing each other and never moved. That was cool. The only person to break that tactic was you, and that made the whole game really awesome (then there were some AI's that were faster and tougher, just to make the game interesting). The other awesome part of BF was the fighters on the ground battles (expecially on the Bespin level) where you had ships to blast the guys on the ground with, making the tactical part of the game cooler. There were some more orders you could give the troops, like "hold position" and "follow" (the there was "at ease", which I never really figured out what it did).

    Now there's Battlefront II:

Most of the above mentioned things are gone from BF II, meaning all the ships have moved on to "Space Battle" (expect Hoth, but you NEED ships there) and there are only two orders: "Leave" and "Follow". That's it. There are some nice additions like the previously mentioned stamina bar (sprinting), but the prone is stragely gone (and it was so freakin' useful for sniping! WHY DID THEY REMOVE IT?!?! IT MAKES NO SENSE!!). Anyway, then BF II has the new "Story Mode" (which is pretty interesting, seeing Episode III and the "prequel" to Episode IV from the eyes of a clone trooper)
The new Jedi addition is pretty cool too, but it gets tireing after a while...

The space battles are more flying and shooting than anything else. I'm serious, it's not that great. After 10 battles or so you'll find yourself avoiding them on Galatic Conquest (oh, and Galactic Conquest has been improved too, it's more strategic now).

So here are some tips for BF III:

Let me drive the capital ships!!! That's all I wanted. Oh, and add like, some 3 more capital ships for each team, and make the space maps larger. Let the capital ships be able to go real close and everyone on the cannons should just blast the enemy ships into oblivion!! (Like in the opening sequence of Episode III)

PLEASE add the ships back on the ground battles. They made them so much more entertaining

And let the teams be larger. Not that "16 per team", because that's just too small.

And that's pretty much it. So here's my general opinion:

Battelfront II is a good game, and it has some good replay value. But if you like this one, play the first Battlefront, it's better (if not, it's just as good).

OverviewStar Wars Front II is the second entry into the 3 person shooter franchise. It features many improvements over the original, but there are some problems that arise inevitably during gameplay. SWBFII advertised the following changes in their marketing.-Addition of Space Battles-Addition of Hero/Villain characters (Jedi, Sith, other)-New unlockable classes (Droideka, Dark Trooper, etc.) PROSThere are plenty of new features that enhance gameplay in SWBFII. This game is insane. It is very addicting and fun on multilayer. Here are my thoughts on Battlefront 2: Game play: The game play was excellent. It was a thrill to play and a fun experience. It mostly follows the same schedule, spawning with a specific class (sharpshooter, heavy, regular, etc.) and taking command posts while fighting back your enemies. It seems like it would be redundant but it is incredibly fun. With multiple maps and some different modes, it hardly ever gets boring. The sin...
