Stephen King was born on September 21, 1947 and is currently living in Portland, Maine. He began writing for fun while still in school. His first novel Carrie was a huge success and was soon followed by Salem's Lot, The Shining, The Stand and many more. Having written over 40 books, including a 7 part series of novels, a 6 part serial novel, and numerous short stories, he is amongst the worlds most popular all time writers. He is considered the best horror writer alive today and one of the best ever. Many of his books have been adapted for successful movies. Somehow King's books have not been massively adapted for games. Stephen King has criticized plans of banning violent video games saying such a move would be undemocratic. "Richard Bachman" is a pseudonym that King used until Bachman's true identity was discovered by fans.
