Selling price may not be true since crops can be basic, premium, epic. Not sure if i wrote down the correct ones.
For making the most money buy as many peppers. Though they are quite expensive and you cant afford them the first few in-game days, I would suggest you buy a lot of rice seeds. Its the second most profitable in the beginning; also its done after already 3 days, so you get your money back quicker.

Chicken & Cows:
You can buy chicken and cows from Kitty's Farm/House. Just stand in front of her Chickens, click E when it tells you "talk" and go ahead and click on buy. The same goes for buying a cow, stand in front of the sign and klick on buy. Chickens Cost 800 while buying a cow will cost you 3000. You can place them (once in your bag) on your farm. Obviously you will need a barn first, which will cost you 5000.
To feed your farm animals you can buy pet food from the Pet Store, or you place your wheat into the grinder (you can make the grinder with the crafting table), and it will give you pet food. I would recommend the second option, since buying the pet food is expensive.
