I am currently listening to Babymetal, so coolness.

I wonder how long the gimmick of this band will work for them, I like a few of their songs but I think most of them are poor.

I saw them on a New Year's Eve show here (Japan) but I don't get the feeling they are that popular, maybe I am totally oblivious... I see more foreigners talk about them than Japanese.

@deepcovergecko: The new album is legitimately kind of awesome. Been listening to metal for a good 20 years, playing it for about 15. And just the sheer variety of styles executed by some top-notch musicians, not to mention the catchy-as-hell vocal melodies, takes this band far beyond a simple gimmick. The first album was hit or miss but fun to listen to, but I honestly can't stop with this new one.
