I'm still at a loss as to why the hell the characters weren't available when AE launched. What did they hope to gain by hiding them away until some arbitrary date? Capcom makes absolutely no sense sometimes.
 
As for the new characters, Oni looks like a pretty fresh take on the shoto archetype with his gouken crossed with akuma style. Evil Ryu on the other hand; I dunno, he doesnt seem like he'll be as good as standard akuma. His ultras are definitely better but the lack of a demon flip will hurt since, ostensibly, he is going to rely heavily on mixups and big damage combos to get wins since his health is ass.

He's not a brand new character. He has like 4 moves unique to him. Do you actually play SF? We have enough shoto variants already. Its boring. Literally anything else would be less boring. What this means is jakasses will have someone new to haduken and and dragon punch spam with for about a month then they'll go back to Ken or whatever. Basically Capcom says Haggar, Hugo, and Alex would be redundant because Zangief is in the game, then they add these fuckers. Its all fan porn bullshit.

This thread is painful.

They can be easily spammed which is partially why they're popular, and they're annoying because they can be spammed. This doesn't mean I hate it cus its popular, there's no transitive property. E Honda and M Bison have a small handful of similar moves, and if this game was full of an inordinate amount of, idunno, "floatos" (dudes who throw themselves across the screen) and people liked to spam that, I'd have issue with them adding two more floatos. For people who like playing that kind of character, its great, but they're leaving other play styles in the dust by oversaturating one style so much over other styles and that makes for boring multiplayer.

Being a grappler player myself, These should be an interesting challenge. Ryu, Kens and the other shotos are boring me these days.
