I saw this game on amazon for $35 but I don't feel like picking it up if nobody is playing it.
So are there still duders still playing?
Game » consists of 8 releases. Released Feb 21, 2012
It definitely feels like a console game, I really like the world, the interface, but suffice to say I think the controls are it's biggest failure. Deus EX handles WAY better than this game does. It's really hard for me to get into mainly due to the lack of quick save or forcing me to play to a checkpoint to quit without having to run through a hall of bad guys, cumbersome computer controls and then dying only to repeat a sequence from 3 rooms ago to get where I just died again. Really, really turns me off about this game. I'm sure the multiplayer aspect is money, but singleplayer sucks gameplay wise which is a shame since the production and cast are so awesome .
I liked the single player but co-op was the big hook for me. I played to death the weeks after launch so I probably wont go back anytime soon.
@137: I dunno, once you rebind the breach button to a mouse-button, most awkwardness should go out the window - plays great on PC (and if it doesn't, try disabling vsync... made a world of difference in input lag for me).
I'm pretty much played out on the co-op, but I'll be playing some this weekend (in a fixed group, though), which may or may not reinvigorate my interest in playing more.... still have a 2% of challenges to complete, or something - those mercenaries are hard to find! :)
It's a shame there hasn't been better post-launch support though. Wonder if there are any DLC plans at all... guessing the poor sales probably means a "no" to that question. sigh.

It's not on steam, yet, so no.
It never will be either, it's an EA Origins game... CRAP!
@rb_man: A friend and I play on PC, and usually tend to just duo all the coop missions just since we're kind of picky about playing with unknowns. If you're really hurting for a couple of team-mates, it probably won't be hard to convince my friend to jump back in for a few. We usually communicate via Skype... I'm not even sure if there's built-in Voip in Syndicate now that I think about it.
It's unfortunate that this game was released relatively closely to MW3/BF3. It's more solidly crafted than many other recent shooters I've played.
Edit: Putting a video of us just as a proof of concept. If it sounds like I'm talking to myself it's because he forgot to record his mic.
Origin name Ashveil.
I actually just got it yesterday, but I haven't started playing it yet. I probably won't until the weekend. I saw it for $25 on Amazon after shipping, and I couldn't resist.
Co-op was great and I played the hell out of it for the first two or three weeks with other GB duders. It was easy to find games then, not sure how that's fallen off though, especially considering the lack of patches/any mention of DLC.
I'd say the PC version is the way to go - game looks significantly better and you'll have a 60FPS experience on even a modest rig, but I can't speak for the community as is. The co-op is decent but the focus on set enemy patterns and spawns means it won't last you too long. That being said, it certainly did get its hooks into me at least for a time.
Warp, Shank 2 were EA published on Steam.@me3639 said:

Can anyone else weigh in on the state of this game's coop? I think the game looks great but I don't want to buy it if I won't be able to find any games.
@ajamafalous: Not great. I usually seem to be about one of the few people playing. Forget finding a game with consistency especially on off hours. I mostly picked it up for the SP but coop has turned out to be such a damn good time I have been addicted to it this past week.
Origin name is Boxeru13 for anyone that wants to play. Fair warning, I'm pretty boss and usually score a shitload of points, like two to three times what my partners score and that's on normal difficulty.

I've started it, but I'm not sure how many people will want to play this thing on PC in the long term.
So far I have to keep a controller next to me as the keyboard equivalents do not always do the same thing pushing the button on the controller does >.>. It kind of feels like it doesn't deserve a PC audience.
So anyone on this thread still playing the Co-op at all. My Origin name is the same as it is on here if anyone wants to play a few rounds.

Yup. Still playing it, practically non-stop since 1993.
